This is a great series and I loved the second book. Jill, Greg, Aunt Jackie, and the rest of the characters are well-written and entertaining. In this book, Jill gets into an argument with the owner of The Castle. He then turns up dead and Jill is a suspect. Of course, the people who know her don't believe she did it. Also, the man along with the owner of the local antique store had been trying to disprove her claim that the mission had been in her backyard. Can Jill figure things out before she gets killed? A great book that kept me guessing all the way to the end. Can't wait to move on to the next book!

This is the second book in the series and it was as good as the first one. The main character owns a book store which is I think a perfect job and she was left an old house by a friend and the house is in bad shape, so she fixes it up, works at the store, has interactions with the people in the small town and of course there is a murder or two to solve. Its a good cozy read.

The fact that the story includes a bookstore, dogs, an independent female wanting to take care of herself and her home, plus talk about food, coffee and tea, is just icing on the cake!! Having got herself nicely settled in her new home, in South Cove, California, bookstore owner Jill Gardner is loving life. The only fly in the ointment is the reluctance of the town council to award historical landmark status to the stone wall on her land she is sure was part of a local mission building.

When a body is found Jill’s problems with her application means the town decides she is the number one suspect and even new boyfriend and local police detective Greg King, has his suspicions. Jill isn’t the only person who had problems with the deceased however, and with others determined to remain hidden the chances of her becoming an inmate at the local jail are increasing all the time.

This is the second in the Tourist Trap Mystery Series and already its like visiting with old friends. Jill is great, her character is immensely likeable as are new puppy Emma and boyfriend Greg. The other main protagonists are all present and correct and I can see me reading book after book until I am all caught up.
