As a longtime reader of Ms. Rowe and all her books I knew that when Zander was ready to tell his story it was going to be EPIC!!! And if I could think of a word that conveys that it's bigger than EPIC I would... this book has all the elements of what I love about Ms. Rowe's writing, humor unparalleled by few authors, true love and support of family, hotter than hot sex and a story that consumes me. In addition to all this, Zander and Aloha's story is heartbreakingly beautiful.
We know the swagger that Zander has and his confidence in himself and what he's looking for in a woman is very clear in his mind...even if does fall "in love" quickly...or at least what he thinks is "love." Until he meets the famous child star now turned singer that sells out stadiums, Aloha Carmichael. He thinks he knows what he's signing on for as her body guard thanks to some late night texts. But what he doesn't expect is the woman he meets and comes to know through their interactions...because beneath the façade of what Aloha Carmichael presents to the world, she really is a painfully damaged and broken girl.
And so begins the job that changes both their lives. Getting watch Aloha's first reaction to Zander had me chuckling because he's not who she thought he was thanks to some fast thinking and a little help from smoking the good stuff, when Zander shows up Aloha was awestruck....
"A fine-as-Ef black man in a black button-down shirt. Hot diggity d**n, that black dude is one sexy hunk of muscle-clad dark chocolate. High cheekbones. Two diamond studs in his ears. And those lips! Good lord. They're full and gorgeous."
When it becomes apparent this beautiful man is the one charged with protecting her on this tour, let's just say they bother were very happy. The chemistry between Zander and Aloha could not be missed or ignored. As much as Zander wanted to ignore his feelings, especially when the Morgan family is involved with a wager that had me rolling, he's there to protect her but that doesn't stop them from becoming thick as thieves in a friendship that included her climbing him like a koala, movie night and general frivolity!
As the story progresses, we learn so much about Aloha and how she became the person she is....and let me tell you, my heart was breaking for this beautiful girl. She has few that she can trust and allow in her inner circle and the ones that should be in that circle aren't who you'd think they are. Her thoughts on love are definitely jaded...
"Being loved by 'everyone' feels a whole lot like being loved by no one at all."
Oh the way our Zan-Zan cherished this girl. Yes, he's her body guard but he's so much more and as their relationship grows and changes, there are some definite moments that had my eyes tearing up, but in the next scene I'd be snort laughing thanks mostly to Keaney and his conversations with his "wifey." We see a depth to Zander I wasn't expecting but, if possible, made me love him even more. He really is a gentle giant and there are times that truly shocked me and his showing us who was below the Zander Swagger.
This is a quick moving story and as we get to the climax, and oh let me tell you some of the climaxes we get to experience throughout this book... The Sure Thing has a totally new meaning to me...my heart was full-on rooting for Zander and Aloha to find the love they've both sought their entire lives in different capacities. There are some very pivotal scenes that WOW!!! I was fist-pumping at the end of them because oh my goodness I was on the edge of my seat devouring each and every word and action.
Throughout this book, I felt the entire Morgan family embrace me as I read each and every page. There's raucous laughter, tear inducing moments, swoon-worthy actions and above all, love that is so all encompassing that once again I want to be part of this amazing family. They show once again that blood doesn't determine who your family is.
Thank you Ms. Rowe for giving us a book that truly moved me in every way possible and has me geared up and ready for Dax's book!!

Lauren Rowe remains one of my favorite authors because of books like this. All the emotions are represented in this wonderful story of Zander and Aloha. Not only is Zander Keane's best buddy, wifey, brother from another mother, and friend extraordinaire, but he is also the most delightful character! He takes on the role of Mister Bodyguard with zeal and his effervescent personality. Aloha is the 'package' who makes it her mission that Mr. Bodyguard will share the sheets with her or else.The fun of traveling this journey with them is priceless. Throw in a bet that includes the entire Morgan clan as well as the star herself and you have the makings of really good times. His tender heart is at stake as well as his sanity while everyone awaits the fateful moment that Zander will fall.Ballbusting bosses, crazed fans, unforgettable after parties, sexy sweat inducing scenes, an adorable Vegas surprise and a near tragedy that makes everyone reevaluate the situation are what are in store for you with Mister Bodyguard.
