What a wonderful treasure!

What an absolute beautiful story! The story is about the Moon Man who is bored of living on the Moon and grabs the tail of a comet to visit Earth. The story is about his adventure here on Earth and having to deal with the President of the Earth who just finished conquering the whole planet and is now looking for something or somewhere to conquer. In the story, the Moon Man poses the questions, "what is a friend?" and "what is trust?" and its his encounter with inventor Bunsen van der Dunkel that teaches him the answers of his questions.
The voice acting is somewhat mixed, but the Moon Man voiced by Katharina Thalbach is outstanding to say the least. You can hear the struggle, the sadness, the humility and the joy in the Moon Man's voice. I must admit that I got teary-eyed in a couple of scenes.
A couple of tunes in the movie are "Moon River" performed by Louis Armstrong, and "Paper Moon."
Yeah, the premise is kind of silly, all children's stories have a pinch of silliness, but when you look beyond the silliness what you will find is an absolute treasure!
I just wish that had it in either DVD or BD!

Good music and charming illustrations. Seemed more like book turned into a movie. Great for my 4 year old, but not my eight year old.
