Quite Literally the WORST Movie I have ever seen.

It is hard for me to put into words how unbelievably bad this movie is. It has some good actors in it, and good graphic effects. That's it, full stop. The writing is utterly, unbelievably garbage. It has the lackluster, uncreative, unrealistic feel of many movies you see that come out of a certain communist nation, as if it was made to conform to a standard of numb, uninspired spirit. As if it was made for a dumbed-down audience. The story, plot and writing make this insufferable. The scenes change pace every 10 seconds from dramatic heart felt declarations to whimsical quips, it runs through all emotions quickly and cheaply on a never ending cycle like broken washer that can never clean the dirt inside. NOTHING in this is logical in ANY way! The plot holes never cease, the lack of respect and knowledge about space and gravity will drive you insane if you have even a middle school grade level understanding of gravity. The dialogue is atrociously unbelievable and downright insane. For example, certain forces in this movie can lift a tractor, but not a child. For example, those who want to do someone bodily harm in this movie suddenly wait for their target to turn their back, get into a car, and buckle up. Literally 100s of illogical script and plot failures that make this movie IMPOSSIBLE to enjoy. Instead of making the writing entertaining or one bit believable, you are sprinkled with endless pop references to typical hollywood propaganda like Karen references and Elon references. A W F U L!

Forget all those 1-star ratings, forget the religious nutcases who think that the earth is 4,000 years old, forget those who complain about China's involvement in making this movie, and ignore those who claim that Satan resides in Hollywood.
I just watched a brilliant movie that will keep you at the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Roland Emmerich is one of the best filmmakers ever.

Streamlined garbage

Similar to other recent made for stream movies - CGI action scenes coupled with horrible writing and a predictable storyline. Set dialogue scenes done on the cheap. Terrible acting done by big names can’t pull it off, not by a long stretch.

Glad I missed this one in the theatre

I can suspend a lot of disbelief when watching science fiction but this was so ridiculously implausible I felt bad for the actors trying to pull it off with a straight face. The effects were poorly done. At one point the film actually used a miniature set during one of the flooding scenes--something I haven't seen since the late 1970's Godzilla movies). Also, the scenes with family members trying to survive on the earth while mom and dad are winging it in an outdated museum relic (that somehow can still fly) were slow and distracting from the larger plot.

Moon science? Nah

I am flabbergasted that the mind that brought us Day After Tomorrow, 2012, AND INDEPENDENCE DAY created this...flaming garbage heap. Listen, I love a natural disaster/alien/let's save the world movie. LOVE. I was so excited to watch this. And I am shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, by this film. Firstly...apparently no one felt the need to do ANY research about the moon, or space, or gravity. Secondly...the writing was abysmal. Thirdly...the delivery of the terrible writing was just so lackluster. And why that ending? There won't be a sequel to this trash heap.

Standard Roland Emmerich Fair...

Its not the greatest story ever told, but then again if you're familiar with Emmerich's work, it never is. This one is no better, but not his worse either. Simply, its 2+ hours of exaggerated sci-fi fantasy that for me did what it was intended to do, entertain. Most of the 1☆ reviews seem to be uneducated into what they were buying, I was not. Wait for it to come down in price, and you'll be more satisfied if even less disappointed.

The movie was so fast paced that you didn't have time to think about anything other than the complete and utter disregard for anything we know about anything.

I get that it's a movie, though it's so far fetched that it just lost us from the beginning.
