Thanks to NetGally and Xpresso Book Tours/A.L. Kessler for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily. This exact review will be posted on both Amazon and Goodreads.
No More Black Magic was a mystery good read. Agent Abigail Collins is a likable character, a witch with more power than others prefer, and she’s sent on a case with too many pieces to puzzle together without help from the few people she trusts in her life.
This book has a little taste of all the paranormal world. Witches, warlocks, vampires, and werewolves. You’ll keep reading, trying to figure out the mystery before Abby, but good Ickes
I binge read the entire series back to back, A. L. Kessler has definitely got my attention and I will be looking forward to reading more of her writing soon.
What’s a powerful witch to do? Solve murders, answer the how and the why.
The action, suspense, and rich characters kept me hinged on each word. The story starts with a mystery that grows thicker each page, littered with plot twists and red herrings in a fictional yet believable setting. I fell in love with Kessler’s work since I first read In the Light of the Moon. She has a magic (pun intended) touch with action, descriptions and character building. She has an ability to build a riveting tenseness between characters and scenes. Her books have a paranormal edge that makes them more intense.
A book both paranormal and mystery fans will love!

This is a world where the paranormal is accepted (if not always liked) by the human community,
and where the police use the services of Abby to help solve magical crimes. She also carries out
assignments for her guardian, Levi, who is a vampire. These tasks even involve killing non-humans,
but only as a last resort as Abby is a powerful witch.
Her power didn't stop her from being hexed by an evil Cult - the one she suspects of being behind a
series of gruesome murders. She has to have help from the local coven (which she refuses to join) and
from Simon, a bar owning werewolf who fancies her. There was a hint of romance but no sex.
Well written, and a nice twist on the theme of a supernatural working for the state.
