I agree with other reviewers that it is helpful to read the preceding 4 books first. I love this series so much I purchase them in all formats: kindle, paperback and especially LOVE listening to Scott Brick bring the books to life on Audible.
Thank you Michael for yet another fun, exciting and pleasurable read. It was so worth the wait and I am now looking forward to Ripple coming to Audible and the sweet anticipation of Book #6. PS I am still bummed that I didn't win the dinner with you and Scott Brick in San Diego last year!
Fortunately, the cast of protagonists are richly developed and utilized, and the action sequences remain as thrilling as in the previous books in the series. Plot devices are varied and hold interest despite the sometimes tedious dialogue mentioned above. This novel sets the stage for some potentially exciting storytelling to come in future novels of the series.
This book, was somewhat difficult to follow, as it moved back and forth between multiple sets of characters, and their issues. And just when you think you have figured out the next move, everything changes.

Although you could read it as a stand-alone, I would very much recommend that you read the series, as it will enhance your enjoyment of the entire story.
Having read all books so far, I immersed myself into this book as quickly as I could (work allowing!) and it was simply brillliant. There was so much fascinating information to take in that I did go backwards and forwards to reread information to ensure I’d understood everything that was going on.
The author does invite you to check what is fiction and what is not, and that is my next stop as I know I’m going to be fascinated by that too.
Mr Grumley - thank you for another outstanding book and I can’t wait for the next one in the series, if this and all previous books are anything to go by, it’s going to be stunning.
