I like Mac, but even in the third book of the “A Cozy Capers Book Group Mystery” series, Murder At The Lobstah Shack she takes some getting used to in order to really like. I enjoy that Mac runs her bicycle sales and repair shop and works hand-in-hand with her brother. She is also very involved with the rest of her family and makes them a part of her day-to-day life. The real problem with Mac is that she can’t keep her nose out of murder investigations.When her business neighbor, friend, and owner of The Lobstah Shack, Tulia, calls on her to help when she finds a body in her walk-in freezer, no one can blame Mac for running straight into the middle of another mystery. It doesn’t take long for her to find suspects or motives, but finding the evidence and the truth seem to evade her until the very end. She spends more time running around than running her bicycle shop, and even when her grandmother lands in the hospital, Mac spends too much time following the trail of crumbs that lead her straight into the sights of a killer.The twists and turns run throughout the story, and Mac has to follow every one of them to their conclusion. Eventually, the killer is unveiled, but not without a few heart-stopping moments that will leave readers wondering if Mac might not be better off going back to her bicycle shop and letting the police do their job. Characters in this series are fun and enjoyable to spend time with, especially Mac's parrot, Bella. Even when they aren’t as robust as they have been in previous installments. The location couldn’t be better, and the food and recipes will have your mouth watering. Overall Murder At The Lobstah Shack is an enjoyable read but might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
