When I was a kid... I saw this movie on the television ... Never in my wildest dreams.. would I suspect that this was an actual "True story"...?? This should be a learning lesson to all women .. who get married and stay with-in reach of men like this..?! If you wanna learn the fact's.. I suggest you research the victim Ewa B ... and the such... I had been looking for this movie for some years... Luckily for Google.. I was able to see find it.... I hope that they children of the victim did grow up and were able to put their live's back together....?? I can't imagine the nightmare's .... hopefully it's nothing but a distant journey in their minds....??

True to Life

As a daughter of an Eastern European man, I found this story to be frighteningly close to the life my brother and I led as immigrant children in NY and LA. Candice Bergen played the part of the long-suffering wife exceptionally well and reminded me of my own dear mother in a hopeless situation. I was painfully reminded of childhood at the hands of a failure / psychopath who bullies his family because it's easier than facing his own weaknesses. He is now 97 and will die alone in a nursing home, miserable, forgotten, and unremorseful. There must be some justice for the innocent.

I found it frustrating towatch in parts

Although this was a well done movie, I found it frustrating to watch in parts. It's a true story so you can't think, well, that would never happen. Unfortunately, it appears that it continues to happen.

Okay for a Made - for - TV movie
I worked on this made - for - TV film in the middle 1980s. I've been looking for a VHS copy of it for years but have never found one or, if I did, it was unreasonably priced (I've seen it priced at well over $40 - ridiculous!). I've finally found a copy under it's alternate name (My Sweet Victim) through another source (not Amazon). I'm currently waiting to receive it. I've only seen the film once (at the crew screening at the Director's Guild in Los Angeles) so I really can't review the actual film but I do remember that it was much better than most of the films I worked on during my time in Hollywood.

If you haven't heard of the case, don't look into it first
I thought this was really good for a TV movie. I didn't know anything about the case before I watched the movie...I think the movie was better that way. Now I can't get the case out of my mind
