Burning Garbage is nicer to watch.

The movie is a lazy parody and a tongue and cheek rip off of various 80s Sci-Fi movies including Weird Science, ET, Close Encounters and even forces in some lame Star Wars toys. I cringed when they stole a line from Comedians in Cars getting Coffee, I mean that was pretty sad. Is this guy a basement dwelling mouth breathing man baby or an actor? I am embarrassed for the people who read the script and its great. This movie is not funny, its not good, its just painful to watch such poor script writing. I am sure in his head it all looked super cool and felt like a Spielberg movie. If the; I will not call it a film or a movie, show stopped trying to be so obvious and hit us over the head with stupid references, it might be better. Call a priest and give this movie last rights.

Hey, on a good note the sound and camera work was very good for the first 15 minutes I suffered watching this. That was literally the best part.

Clearly, this is an adult version of the basic E.T. story. One has Joe, a Sci-Fi nerd, who with his friend Murph do a program over the internet. Joe is to be married to Susan, who is a real control freak over Joe. As the movie goes along, it becomes very easy to truly detest Susan, who is extremely self absorbed with herself, and wants to totally control Joe. Under her influence, Joe is totally whipped.

There is a flash of light during a storm, and an alien is transported to Joe’s backyard. The alien has claws, but in seeing a poster of a film star transforms itself into that person. Joe is focused on trying to get her home, and also staying true to Susan.

It is a comedy, with really two moving parts. Susan is with her girlfriends on a bachelorette night out, and Joe is trying to get Blair (alien) home.

Low budget, simple camera work, and really a minimalist plot and they get quite a bit out of it. Joe’s friends seem genuine, and Susan’s seems to be taken along by Susan, even if they don’t agree.

Best movie EVER!

Truly an incredible work of genius. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a fine movie of superb quality. The acting is second to none...I really mean that. (Spoiler alert!) When the Alien girlfriend says "clothes" and "home" you can feel the pathos in her voice. I know that I cried uncontrollably---and I still am. When those actors went home after a grueling day on set, they must have been ecstatic, and deservedly so. Don't get me wrong. I have seen some really good movies in the past. The Notebook comes to mind. But those movies don't compare with this one. No way. Not at all. I am so happy that I lived long enough to see this gem of a SciFi. Thank you Amazon 'cause I don't think that I would ever have spent the money to go to a theater to see this epic film! Bravo! Bella bravissimo!

Good Movie Gone Bad

The first sign that it was not great was the soon to be wife threw out his Reese's Pieces and M&Ms. Just that alone she'd have the door slam her ass across the street on the way out. The second, was his getting spat in the face with green slime. Admittedly, the alien made up for it in a way, but the door should have been closed then. The last and worst offense was the several references to Joe Biden and Obama. That just ruined the movie over all. Other that that it is a fun B movie. Acting is realistic and works for the movies feel. The better acting that people seem to want in the reviews would have ruined the fun of the movie. This is common folk in a realistic situation with an alien thrown in for good measure.

Not so alien but I guess this story works

There is a lack of sci-fi stuff and more of a parody-ish camp-ish vibe to this story. But I did enjoyed it. I thought I wasn't going to enjoy and it would least be decent but it's actually not bad. I wasn't really expecting much of sci-fi stuff afterwards because stories like this with a sci-fi tag tends to not really be one but leaning more to a rom com type. I wish there was more balanced from both of them for this film. I guess the alien is one of those less intelligent but somehow crafted a spaceship to travel through outer space. The lack of that one was kind of a bummer but oh well. The more focus is on Joe and his night, well he can't even have a night out with his bros because he's about to marry a psycho controlling would-be wife, who has a lack of consideration to Joe and all she cares about is herself. Well anyways, it is an interesting story with lots of potential. Now it makes me wish there's a sequel where there is more Joe and Stacy then perhaps the alien returns because there is more pressing matters to deal with. All in all, I enjoyed this kind of story and I kinda wish there is more context here and there but I'll add this into my favorite sci-fi films I can watch while I'm on the couch drowning in sorrow because he had an alien girlfriend lol. But really, this is a good film. I'd watch it again to amuse me again. Not the best sci-fi film but probably my guilt pleasure to watch in the sci-fi films department.

Not family friendly due to language.
I kept waiting for the movie to engage me; it was in vain. After about fifteen minutes I was jumping ahead to see if anything was going to happen. Nope. It was supposed to be funny, but I don’t remember even smiling, and I like to smile, so it isn’t hard to make me smile. I thought the acting was amateurish nearly across the board. The only character who even got a reaction from me was the bride-to-be, and that wasn’t a positive reaction, which of course was the intention, so well done on her part. The story was slow and predictable, the script was wanting, the dialog simplistic. On the positive side, the camera work and editing were pretty good. If you are a die-hard fan of alien movies that don’t rely on them popping out of chests, like “Paul” or “Galaxy Quest”, you might enjoy this, though this isn’t nearly as good as either of those.

This movie is an excellent example of how talented producers and writers don't need a big budget to make a wholesome enjoyable movie. Some studio or investor needs to throw some support behind them and see what they can really produce.
