Do you remember the 1964 movie “Goldfinger” with James Bond 007 and Oddjob with his bowler hat? This was a terrific movie!
The book we are talking about is probably for kids less than 13 years old and older people (like me). And this is a TERRIFIC book as well. This one has Oddjobz, but no James Bond 007 at all --- more like James Bond 013. Why? Because there are 13 Chapters and there PUNS GALORE!! (I even like what I wrote!) And all are connected with real James Bond movies (many of which I don’t even remember).
Here are some of the characters:
Tom (the narrator); his best friend, Pradeep; Pradeep’s his 3 year old sister, Sami; and, of course, Oddjobz. The bad guys are: Mark (Tom’s older brother) an EVIL
Scientist; and Sanj (Pradeep’s older brother) an EVIL Computer Genius).
And there are some “animals”: Tom has a ZOMBIE GOLDFISH named Frankie; Oddjobz has an octopus named Antonio; and Mark’s EVIL vampire kitten named Fang, but I don’t think it’s really evil.
A wonderful, funny book. Kudos to the author (Mo O’Hara) and illustrator (Marek Jagucki). 5 Goldfish out of 5!!!!!
Last thing about “Goldfinger”: Oddjob was Harold Sakata and he was a Olympic and professional wrestler. (I didn’t know that!)
This too was devoured the moment it reached our door,
The flip pages in the corner are a real winner,
Had to tear him away from it to eat his dinner,
The book comes with extras and is great value for money,
There are parts that even adults will find funny.

In MY PET’S GOT TALENT Solomon Caldwell (last seen in MY BIG FAT ZOMBIE GOLDFISH: THE SEA-QUEL) is back in town with his new TV show – My Pet’s Got Talent – and he’s looking for pets to audition. There are plenty of talented pets in town but weirdly, their talents seem to fail them once they get on stage. Frankie, Tom, Pradeep and Sami know that Mark and his vampire kitty, Fang, are responsible but they’ll need the help of Geeky Girl (last seen in FINS OF FURY) and her budgie, Boris if they’re to defeat Mark’s latest plans for world domination …
The fifth in Mo O’Hara’s ZOMBIE GOLDFISH SERIES is another action-packed highly enjoyable affair divided into two stores that each pit Tom, Pradeep and Frankie against evil big brothers intent on riches and world domination. I really like the fact that Pradeep’s younger sister Sami now seems to be a regular part of the group (and I adored the little shark fin life vest she wears in the illustrations for the first story). Speaking of the illustrations, Marek Jagucki once again nails the illustrations – the flipper page corner animation is a lot of fun and the pictures are perfect for the action and events of the plot. O’Hara packs a lot of plot into each of the stories – I enjoyed the introduction of the mysterious Mr Oddjobz and his relationship with Antonio (who was exactly what I’d hope from a psychic octopus) and I equally welcomed the return of Solomon Caldwell and Geeky Girl (who seems to take a shine to Pradeep). The talented pets are hilarious (my favourite being Toby the tortoise) and Sanj, Mark and Fang are suitably boo-hissable (and as liable to try and get one over on each other as they are their younger brothers). There’s no sign of this series flagging and I really can’t wait to read Frankie and co’s next adventure.
