well done film that will make you think

extremely well done. this could easily have degenerated into an oversimplified story, with all good guys and bad guys. instead, like real life, it is far more complicated, and you can see the motivations of each person, including their backgrounds which influence their current state of mind. an excellent script, complemented by superb acting and direction.

Good premise, not executed to its fullest.

This movie has a few serious issues that never completely develop. They all seem to be resolved easily and quickly fade away. As if there's no remorse or consequences on their actions. The characters try to find their "call" in life, but we never have a chance to see them pursuing and reaching their destination.
it's an easy movie to watch.

A French family's perspective on undocumented immigration, from the youngest member to the oldest, the more naive to the more cynical. It's combined with the perspectives of the Moldavan immigrant single mom and her young daughter in a way that kept my own perspective shifting. And it made me laugh.
