My Grandson has a little library of his own and this is one of the books he chooses over and over again to be read to him. When I first read it, I wasn't sure if I like the story line as it depends on luck and I am not a believer in luck but once Grandma got past that little concern all was good to go. I just by pass the luck reference and he doesn't know any different. He gets so excited when I read this book to him, we have lots of fun together reading it. I would recommend it and if you too, like me are not a believer in luck you will need to make the decision if this would be suitable for your purchase... I enjoy reading this book so much to him...we have had so much fun together reading it, he never gets bored with it nor do I. Nicely made and good price. Great Service...Thank you.

My husband wrote the original review below but I've changed the rating to 5 stars because I just asked my toddler son how many stars he would give this book and he emphatically said "5 stars!!!" He's owned this book for a while now and still reads it to this day. Honestly, I think my son's opinion matters more since he is the intended audience of a children's book about a dump truck, not some man in his late 30s.

I took inspiration from a portion of the book itself for my review:

Rotten luck. Can’t read! This book just sucks.

Cadence grinds.
The grammar’s poor.
And I won’t buy another.

Not one book more.

So this book claims to be rhythmic, but the actual content of the book has so many hard stops and irregular lines that it’s definitely not.

I usually don’t even bother to review bad novels I’ve read, so the fact I’ve come here to call this book out is a testament to how terrible it is.

Heed the warnings of the 1-Star reviews and buy something else.

Confused by this book. And a little weirded out.

Why is the truck delivering a huge load of bones? Why are the weird road gophers eating the bones? Why is the rhyme scheme inconsistent?

My son loves tow trucks and therefore enjoys this book but.... I'm here wondering if Kevin and Daniel are ok.

My 2 year old son loves this books. He loves all things trucks which is what drew me to this book originally. It has a very cute, repetitive and rhyming story which makes it easy to read. My son loves to watch the bones in the back of the dump truck disappear as some sneaky critters get ahold of them. :) I plan to get this for my truck loving nephew for Christmas as well!

My son loves this book. We normally read it as his first bed time story because we tend to interact with the story. As the tale progresses, there are more vehicles introduced and we count along with the book. Each time a vehicle is added, the number is shown brightly in the book and my son (3 years) points and shouts our the number, then I ask him to count out the cars to get to the number he just recognized.

A really fun story and I highly recommend.

I read this book every night to my son for years when he was 3 - 6. We know the words by heart! I buy it for everyone I know who has a young son. It is wonderful and conducive to reading aloud, using funny voices and making sounds. We giggled and laughed every time we read it. Now my son is 8 and reads far more advanced books on his own without any assistance from me, but he still loves it when I get this out and read aloud every now and then.

This book is pretty awful. I immediately hated the artwork and thought the words/story were pretty bad too, but I persevered in reading it to my son because of how many good reviews it had. But even he doesn’t like it, and he likes just about any book about vehicles that have wheels. He enjoys pointing out the balloon in some of the images, but that’s the extent of his interest in this book so far. He’s only 11 months, so I’ll hang onto it in case he develops a taste for it later on, but I kind of doubt he will. Unlike many other 1-star reviewers, though, I also don’t like this author’s other book, Chugga chugga choo choo (again, neither does my son).
