In spite of what one reviewer said--Scott Bakula was born in Missouri, so that makes him an authentic Southerner, thus his accent is correct-- give me a break! First of all, Missouri is NOT in the south, in spite of being primarily a supporter of the Confederacy during the Civil War. And, aside from that, I've lived in Missouri most of my 65 years and I assure you that we don't sound like that. I know Scott Bakula is trying to do a real southern accent, but it's pretty much painful to hear. I wish he would just let it go and use his regular voice. Just because the show is in New Orleans doesn't mean he has to sound southern, especially when it sounds so affected.
STILL, NCIS: New Orleans gets full stars because I love the original show, have always been a fan of Scott Bakula, and I continue to hope that, with Mark Harmon as an Executive Producer, the show will iron out its little quirks over time and prove to be a quality sibling to the other two shows.
