Surprised me !

I am not a fan of country music and never would I have even tried this show except one night I was watching something else and I turned this on just because something caught my attention I don't even recall what it was . Lo and behold it took two episodes and I was completely hooked now I'm just finishing up season one so I'm nowhere near the current 5th season but man it's a good show Hayden pantierre really surprised me and since American horror I always liked Connie Brighton is it? I'm not sure of her name but the main character with the long red hair. She's just amazing love the mom is a drug user and the country twang and flavor of it all, very nice mixture and I even enjoy the singing and again country is just my least favorite type of music but mixed in the way it is here it's just a nice show that I thoroughly enjoy.

Nashville has very talented singers and musicians as well as actors

Well written show about the capital of my state, the country music city of the USA. Fans of Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere, for both their acting and singing abilities, I wanted to check the show out. They are both so beautiful! I am enjoying seeing Hayden as Juliet in Season 3 in character as Avery's ex-girlfriend, pregnant with their child, while she is pregnant in real life. I was glad they did not depict her character having an abortion or committing blasphemy, as it does reflect most of the current values of the South, people with morals and deep religious convictions, while obviously flawed and conflicted.. Yes Juliet and Rayna, as they become friends, realize they have more in common than they realized, having deeply painful relationships with men who have really hurt them in the past. It remains to be seen if Rayna will proceed with her wedding, as there is obviously a lot more than friendship in her relationship with Deacon. Interesting!!

Fun show

I will follow Connie Britton pretty much anywhere, so watching thsi show was a no-brainer for me. Not everything works (most plotlines involving her husband's political career are a snoozefest; Britton's singing voice leaves something to be desired), but what does work is great soapy fun. I'm not much of a country music fan, but T-Bone Burnett's oversight of the music displays his typical deft touch--a LOT of great songs here, especially the downtempo stuff. The best songs to me sound like '70s singer-songwriter fare filtered through contemporary indie-folk/alt-country, with just enough pedal-steel accoutrements to pass for country.

OwI'm an addict and I don't particularly but like country music. But I have attended 'FanFAIR '&! had fun & loved Nashville. I got hooked by the music and then the characters. While I couldn't stand Scarlett, at first, she has grown & her n voice mesmerizes me. My favorate pairing is Scarlett and her 'Uncle Deacon' singing 'Our Town'. But she kills it on her own in 'Black Roses'. The shows is loaded with talent. I hope that it continues to be renewed. It gets better every season. I'm embarrassed that I know as much as the Nashville cast as I knew about the the Beatles back in the day.

One of the best series ever

One of the best series ever. Connie Britton is AMAZING! I loved her in Friday Night Lights and even more in Nashville. I'll be sad when I've streamd my way throgh all the seasons. In the meantime I am really enjoying the story, the actors, the music, (and I'm not even a big fan of Country but I am loving all the songs which are so appropiate for the story line. WELL DONE by everyone.

quickly evolves into a soap opera
Verified purchase
Like the two main characters. This show that centers around the country music industry in Nashville quickly evolved into a soap opera setting of who was sleeping with whom and who was being stabbed in the back. I wanted to hear the music and see the talent. There was less of that.

Pretty durn good!

I'd watch Connie Britton if she were just painting a wall. She was great in Friday Night Lights and she is even better in Nashville.
A great singer she isn't but passable, as is true of many c & w performers. The show itself is just plain entertaining. Having Powers Boothe play the dad is a real plus, he flay out personifies the villain with a soft heart in there somewhere.

Great music, excellent characters

Really catches you right from the get-go. Great music, excellent characters. By the end of the first season I felt some subplots would do well to get on with it, therefore a 4 and not a 5. Music still great.
