Fight for the Right Reasons

Well conceived movie about a family going through guilt, blame, and anger when the father drives drunk and dies in an accident with his son sitting in the passenger seat. The son blames himself, the mother secretly blames the son, as well, and the younger son/brother watches the pain and sadness eating away at the family. This sets the stage for an avenue to vent all that anger through the rest of the plot. I like the attractive cast who play their roles convincingly. There are funny moments that uplift the tone of the film with a good pace. I am pleasantly surprised.

Fun movie that can get you motivated

Fun movie when not taken so dramatically like some reviewers. I have watched it a few times and you get inspiration from it. The idiots that slam at say not realistic, predictable. Etc. Like most movies aren’t...It is a movie you idiot. So ET....real to life? Idiots around here amaze me. This movie is not for everyone, but be sensible. It is enjoyable fun. So someone mentioned the Karate Kid as a comparison knocking this over it. I loved the Karate Kid, but my man...waxing a car and painting a fence does not win you a Karate championship lmao...ignorance...

Every story line was totally unbelievable

No a movie doesn't have to be believable to be enjoyed but there was absolutely nothing to enjoy about this move whatsoever. It's the worst movie I've seen in a long time.
Poor script, poor directing and poor acting. Story is like a dumb script writer's redo of the Karate Kid.
OK so you get by the opening scene where in real life the guy is kicked out of the game for throwing a punch. But then you go to Florida where a high school kid holds a party at his father's mansion that would put a party at the Playboy mansion to shame. High school kids, yeah right! Stupid. Just stupid and it doesn't get any better from there.

Fun Movie That Hits All The Right Notes

This isn't a complicated movie, and there's definitely nothing new or groundbreaking here, but it IS an enjoyable watch, and even manages to surprise in a couple of places (nice fake out toward the end where you think they're cutting the action short).

it's not one that you'll have obsessive water cooler conversations about, but it's well worth a watch.

About What You'd Expect
Verified purchase
Typical teen focused cheese but entertaining. The guy reminded me a bit of a young Tom Cruise. The gal reminded me of a young Charlize Theron. Obviously they have a lot of room to grow actors and the realism is LOL (being body slammed on pavement will end a fight I don't care who you are). I'd probably give it 2.5 stars but not an option so I rounded up.

Cam Gigandet

Sure, I get the Karate Kid ripoff references. Training for six weeks then going to the big fight? Come on! But this colorful movie, bathed in Orlando light, hits the notes it should for it's intended audience - teen boys. It's no "Warrior" but it's pretty darn entertaining. And Cam Gigandet? This project should have opened lots of doors for him. He is note perfect as the villain. Worth the time for his performance alone although Evan Peters and a young Wyatt Smith play their supporting roles well.
