Never Here

 (39)4.31 h 50 min2017R
Disturbing events lead an installation artist who follows and photographs strangers to suspect that someone out there is watching her. Boundaries blur between real and imaginary, crime and art, the watcher and the watched in this eerily fascinating exploration of identity, voyeurism and loss of self.

This is not going to have a simple bow

I wouldn't quite rate this 4 really but its not a 3 either. This is definitely a psychological thriller. The setting is a supposed artist puts on a galley of a man she stalked (sorry but no matter the reason at the end of the day it was stalking). The guy is mad, that night her lover witnesses an assault from her apt window and she calls it in but claims she is the one who saw it. A few days later someone trashed the exhibit. And the artist decides to follow another guy (seriously did she not learn from the first one). Over time, very strange things are happening. Her dog acts weird, people claim they didn't see her despite her claim of being at x spot for hours. Etc. Possible spoilers: at the end she is confronted by the last guy she is stalking who turns out to be a cop (by the way she broke into his place, seriously this lady and her colleagues have no morals). She gets away and goes back to her apt where she is looking up at her window and there is another woman standing in it. She then stands up, turns around and gets into a cab and requests the airport. I think she was either some mental person (really, why would you stalk someone? I get trying to make art but that ain't a good excuse) or she was stalking that woman as well for her art work. Both sound possible, honestly the dog was the biggest tip off.

I love Mirelle Enos but hated this movie

This is such a weird movie, and the plot is so dry, and confusing. All I could think of is what about the dog? Long drawn out stares... I love Mirelle Enos but hated this movie.

Great psychological thriller

This takes a couple of viewing. It is full of symbols and events that make it fairly easy to figure out. The synopsis on the streaming site for this spells it out. Loss of self, art vs crime. It is creepy, but on an unrelated note, I don't see how they call this a horror and Hereditary a suspense drama. If you like the actors and are into art house, subtle disturbing films, give it a try

A try to be psychologically thrilling but ended up being an anxious and underwhelming attempt that left storylines without close. This is not worth watching. Don’t waste your money!
