About Nicholas Wilkinson
A lifelong writer, Nicholas Wilkinson lives in Kearny, Arizona where he writes almost every day against the backdrop of the beautiful desert vistas. Nicholas Wilkinson, along with his wife Kate, wanted to find something that they could do together as a couple, and so, "Inappropriate Children's Stories" was born. With a daughter of their own, the couple quickly realized how boring and unappealing children's books can truly be. Using rhyming couplets, the husband and wife team put their own unique twist on the everyday adventures of modern parenting.
Nick spent over 10 years working with "at-risk" youth, and Kate has worked with pre-school-aged children for as long as she can remember. Nick Wilkinson has authored books on child abuse and teens in crisis, and helping survivors of child abuse and neglect is a passion that his both personal and rewarding.
In 2018 Nick's sister Yolanda passed away because of a tragic accidental overdose, thus the book "H is for Heroin" was created to honor his sister's memory and help combat the nationwide crisis of opioid abuse and addiction

Abscess Makes The Heart Grow Fonder, The Ultimate Story of True Love
When people talk about diabetes and being overweight, they usually run down a standard checklist of ailments and afflictions that come along with the disease. It's all usually standard stuff, like being a sweaty mess of high sugars and low self-esteem, but little did you know ther1 month ago Read more -
Blog postWhen I See A Feather (Brittany’s Poem)
By Nicholas Wilkinson
Emily said,
“Hope is a thing with feathers”,
but what else could she know?
About things perched deep within
that blossom, pulse, and grow
For when I see a feather
my heart, it skips a beat
A message sent just for me
so perfectly replete
To dance or glide and flutter,
upon a mighty wind
And to sow the seeds of hope

The Stallions of Elysium
By Nicholas Wilkinson
The Stallions of Elysium roar through Heaven’s gate.
Within there’ll be a felicity that time can not abate.
There is no room for death and gloom in fields full of golden wheat
With blissful meadows, flower petals, and fruit that’s honey sweet

Blog postThis short story was for a contest in 2020. it was my first attempt at the romance genre. While not traditional, I think it is deeply romantic in the big scheme of things. Let me know what you think. Obviously it’s dedicated to my wife Kate.

Katie opened the door, and the sweet smell of buttery biscuits permeated the room. This was her scent now, the smell of Sunday mornings, cozy holiday breakfasts, and familiar times. It was the only smell that stood a c7 months ago Read more -

The best part of this one is that it's for a great charity. The Brain Tumor Charity is all about funding research, raising awareness of brain tumours, reducing diagnosis times and providing support and information for people with brain tumours, their families and friends.

Blog postSo, this is pretty cool! The good people over at Raven and Drake Publishing had some open spaces in their DEATH HOUSE anthology. So, they had a little FB contest. After the brief submission window closed, they would pick a few winners to include in the anthology which was previously announced to be full. Cool, right? Well, they picked my flash fiction piece! I'm so excited! I don't actually write much horror, so this means a lot to me. Plus, to be included with some amazing and talented autho1 year ago Read more

Blog postAfter moving to rural Arizona, it was bittersweet that I got to see my Hetero-Life Mate Chris today. First time since July!
Sadly, it wasn't the best of circumstances. My friend Chris, he lost his wife this week. She had been struggling for a while and her ticket was finally punched.
I wrote this poem for him as much as I did for her. Emily was in love with our daughter Ronnie, she was really embracing being an "auntie".

Dark Magic is a collection of over two hundred bite-size drabbles of dark fantasy and horror.
Enter a world of curses and creatures, the hideous and the hexed, where love is cruel and victory is tainted. Where gods and demons hold sway over mortals, senses are enticed and spirits ensnared. Angels fall, dragons rise, shadows hide secrets and power comes from blood and bone and death itself.
From more than 50 international authors, these wintery drabbles have been crafted to remind you that before you can have the rebirth of spring, first there must be death.
From spooky ghost kids to zombie trick-or-treaters, poisonous treats from serial killers to statues coming alive, this anthology from Black Ink Fiction has 150+ bite-sized horror treats for your enjoyment.
Everyone knows the big names of summer horror and their stories. But what about the maintenance man who doesn’t like his rooftop encroached upon? Terror at summer concerts? Tentacles...lots of tentacles.
Rules for Summer fun:
- Wade into the ocean, lake or river with care this season...you don’t know what’s lurking beneath.
- Don’t get too ensnared by your noise-canceling headphones--you don’t know who may sneak up on you.
- Mind the jellyfish.
- Never, and I mean NEVER, put all your trust in your phone’s GPS.
- Question your neighbor's culinary treats, especially if they've just lost a loved one.
Get more tips on what not to do within the pages of Summer Terrors. Stories in 100 word format from authors all over the world from Black Ink Fiction.
The Ringmaster leads his motley crew, performing for the masses day in and day out. Trapeze artists, the human cannonball, the lion tamer, and of course…the clowns. They smile through the show, entertainment in their blood, but what happens when blood is what they crave? When the audience becomes unwilling participants in a show they never bargained for and clowns have a rivalry…the Ringmaster puts on a performance you’ll never forget.
Come to the Big Top, where 45 international authors let you run away to the circus just like you’ve always dreamed–or feared. In Black Ink Fiction’s Circus of the Damned, you’ll find thrills and scares on every page.

Originally from Raven & Drake Publishing, this re-release of New Tales of Old volume 1 comes just in time for the all-new continuation of the series from Black Ink Fiction.
Once upon a time, there lived a Big, Bad Wolf. He blew down the houses of swine; stole from little girls visiting their grandmothers; led others on a journey to their destinations. Maybe the wolf wasn’t so big or bad. Maybe the canine saved the damsel from an abusive relationship or protected the lands from those that would destroy it.
Find twisted fairy tales centered around the majestic creature in New Tales of Old Volume 2, featuring over 45 indie authors from all over the globe to give their own spin on what really went down with the Big, Bad Wolves.
Maybe a female knight saves the damsel in distress; or the Queen never guesses Rumplestiltskin’s name. Perhaps the sleeping princess isn’t quite who you thought she was. If you’ve grown tired of the same old “once upon a time” stories, check out Black Ink Fiction’s “Once Upon a Drabble” to get a new twist on these 100-word stories.
