Blog postApologies for the long absence without news. Following Homeless' release, I've been working on my summer's releases, including Nexus' sequel Sins Of The Past, and some extra goodies in other anthologies. In a month or two, I should have excerpts and such to start sharing. It's been jarring, at times, to return to characters I first got to know five years ago, but it's been a fun journey. I'm looking forward to drafting Nexus 3, Fight The Future, already. Thanks for taking that trip with7 years ago Read more

Blog postHere's the last excerpt from Homeless. It goes live next week. Thanks for following along!
About Homeless:

Mitch is a 'Wall Banger', an explosives expert who 'cracks' buildings, exposing them to air and sunlight to kill these invasive organisms. Blog postSo, Wonder Woman is a particular point of contention with my wife, who believes that she will never see a realistically detailed female superhero given a non-second class franchise in her lifetime. After a few discussions in October, I took a break mid-nano to sketch out a story for what I would like to see in a WW movie, when it happens. (Which, I do believe it will.) Obviously, I've tried not to devote too much brain space to it- I may need those synaptic connections for something else7 years ago Read more

Blog postThanks for your support of 2013's NaNo project, Twist. It's continuing to serialize on my website, and on wattpad. It's been a lot of fun, and I'm happy to announce that today I finished the first draft of it. It's slightly shorter than legit NaNo length, but that usually gets fixed in editing. I'm excited to begin another project for the rest of the month, to be finished for the new year.

Blog postWelcome to NaNo, the month non-writers usually refer to as November. I'm going to be writing a novel this month, and you're welcome to watch. I'll be posting daily updates on my blog at nicolaswilson.com, which will be about as polished as fresh fiction can; my editor is even planning on combing over them before we post them. The novel I'm writing is a suspense/thriller called Twist. I don't know if I can say more, without giving the game away, but I'm toying with having the subtitle be7 years ago Read more

Blog postAnd here's the last preview for Banksters. Ride shotgun with a sociopath accelerating his ascent to corporate power. Looks like it'll be released the 28th or 29th, after I get the results of the final proofread.
Point of interest, Banksters was originally syndicated daily, as written, during National Novel Writing Month 2011. It's a funny tradition of mine, to peel back my skin a bit and share my work as it happens. If you want to tag along for this year's NaNo project, Twist, a psy7 years ago Read more

The Future Chronicles has grown, from a single collection of robot stories, into a series whose unique take on major science fiction and fantasy themes – A.I., aliens, time travel, dragons, telepaths, zombies, immortality, galactic battles, cyborgs, doomsday – has made it one of the most acclaimed short story anthology series of the digital era.
Its companion series – Alt.Chronicles, The Illustrated Chronicles and Chronicle Worlds – are similarly ground-breaking in their coverage of less mainstream tropes such as alternative history and shared universes.
Created by award-winning author Samuel Peralta, and edited by some of the most-respected editors in the genre, each volume brings together work from visionary new voices and from the grandmasters of modern science fiction and fantasy.
This Future Chronicles Special Edition volume is a compendium of stories selected from the Chronicles’ standalone titles, and includes five new stories, never before published, from some of today’s best writers in speculative fiction.

The future is history... From Samuel Peralta, creator of the bestselling Future Chronicles anthology series, comes a new speculative anthology series that turns the world you know upside down.
In Alt.History 101, thirteen top speculative fiction authors re-imagine the world - as one where the inventor of the smallpox vaccine died before he'd created it, as one where the women's suffragist movement failed to win the right to vote, as one where the death penalty exists but where all forms of capital punishment are ruled inhumane - and ten other compelling stories charting the histories of these worlds.
Enter worlds so much like our own, yet so different - where everything you know... is history.

Intelligent life on other planets: it's the brass ring of space exploration. Do extra-terrestrial species exist? Will we ever make contact? Perhaps, have we made contact already?
In the latest addition to the Future Chronicles series of sci-fi anthologies, the answer to all of these questions is a resounding yes. From first contact to last stand, these original short stories range from quiet tales of personal connection to adrenaline-infused inter-species space conflicts. Each tale promises to present you with a different look at what intelligent alien life might be like -- and how we Earthlings might respond to it.
The Alien Chronicles features stories by bestselling authors Hugh Howey (WOOL), B. V. Larson (the Starforce series), and Jennifer Foehner Wells (Fluency), plus twelve more of today's top authors in science fiction.

Telepathy. Just a far-fetched bit of science fiction “hocus pocus.” But is it? With today’s giant leaps forward in technology and biotechnology, with people constantly surrounded by sophisticated yet invisible communication networks, and with a rapidly increasing understanding of the brain’s inner workings . . . is it so hard to imagine that we might be able to develop direct mind-to-mind communication?
Or might it not be the case that evolution alone, in the right circumstances—if not on this planet, then on others—could give rise to creatures with telepathic abilities?
This collection of fourteen stories explores the ramifications of a future where telepathy is real. From that first glorious moment of discovery, to the subsequent jealousies and class divisions, to the dangers of weaponization and the blessings of medical miracles, The Telepath Chronicles promises to take you inside the creative minds of some of today’s top science fiction authors.
