As Riley and her investigator partner, Cooper Deagnan, work to investigate the burglaries, they come to learn nothing has been stolen. There doesn’t seem to be a reason why the break-ins were committed – until Riley latches onto one piece of evidence left behind. Even as the evidence explaining the burglaries unfolds, it doesn’t reveal the killer.
Riley’s husband, Det. Luke Morgan, is working to find that answer. But the life of the victim is sordid and the suspect list is long. Worst of all, the case brings Luke face-to-face with a man he arrested years earlier, and his singular focus might derail the investigation. Riley, Cooper and Luke must work together to uncover the plot before the killer slips away and the reason behind the burglaries is never revealed.
If you like riveting crime fiction, you’ll love The Night Game. Read The Night Game as a standalone or as Book #6 in the PI Riley Sullivan Mystery series.

Businesses in town are being broken into, but it looks like nothing is being taken. When a murder happens, it muddies the waters further and things seem impossible to figure out. Until an innocuous piece of evidence provides the string that will unravel the plot.
Once again, Jones is spot on with intrigue and mayhem that makes every one of her books a must-read. Night Game is woven from threads that seem random - until you're finally looking at them from the right perspective. Then, the answers will hit you out of nowhere. I absolutely loved this one, brilliant plotting!

In this latest story in the Riley Sullivan series, Reilly and Luke have just returned from their honeymoon. Luke receives a call and leaves to go to a murder scene. The next day, Reilly and Cooper are hired to clear an individual who has been charged with a burglary. As the two investigators began their investigation, this individual also becomes a suspect in the murder investigation that Luke is involved in. As Reilly and Cooper pursue their case, they learn who was really responsible for the burglaries and why they were done. Even though they find this information, it doesn't solve who killed the storekeeper.
Using information that was gathered and getting a witness to come forward, Riley was able to find the killer. To discover who the killer was, what the purpose of the burglaries was, and what was behind the pursuit of Cooper's and Riley's client, you need to read this book. The ending will surprise you.
Once again Stacy Jones has written another fabulous story. The characters are well developed and you either love them or hate them. The plot is full of twists and turns with several red herrings thrown in to keep you guessing. This is a book you don’t want to miss and you don’t want to put it down once you start it. It is a great story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.
