Prepare for a lethal dose of terror…
A young boy’s art takes a sinister turn when the monstrous creature from his drawings reaches into the real world. The clues to a fiendishly clever crossword puzzle predict a series of tragedies for a witch’s nosy neighbors. And a creepy old doll brings pain and misfortune to a woman struggling to cope with her mother’s illness…
As you’re about to go under the knife, Scare Street’s latest collection of supernatural horror is the morphine you need. This new volume holds thirteen tales of bone-chilling terror. More than enough to send a shock though your system.
Goosebumps, nightmares, shivers running down your spine… The physiological symptoms of fear infest your body. Just relax as your demonic nurse tightens the straps on the operating table. The doctor is in, and he’s ready to begin the operation.
All you need is a good old-fashioned scream—and this just so happens to be this sinister surgeon’s specialty. So, shall we begin?
This is going to hurt a little. Or a lot…
This volume contains the following:
1. Cross Words by Peter Cronsberry
2. Hybrid by Justin Boote

About the authors
Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.

William Sterling is an independent author who hails from the darkest depths of Georgia.
While I do love a good, grim, dark descent into the depraved hearts of mankind, my books play more in the realms of "popcorn flick horror" with a soft spot for unexpected endings.
Like Closed Room Mysteries with a touch of the Paranormal? Try Through Frozen Veins.
Like Small Town Horror that blows up in the third act? Try Through Withered Roots
Do the words "Reverse Camp Slasher" make you want to climb out of a lake with a machete? Killer Be Killed might be your style.

I never grow tired of these Scare Street anthologies. They are always fresh and introduce the reader to new and upcoming writing talent. Want some icing on this already sweet cake, the final entry, as always, is from the incredibly talented Ron Ripley and features his distinctive character, Jimmy Hsu.
Do yourself a favor and get this book. Better still, get the entire collection.
The rest of the collection is generally well written but for me is missing truly great stories that would elevate this from a good to a great read.
