I had high hopes for this movie. Was expecting a great performance like in Hell Or High Water. Huge let down! This movie felt like the first draft of the script was green lit and they decided to shoot that. There were a lot aspects missing that could of easily been explained but were not. Maybe somebody on here can answer.
Here is what I mean (Spoilers): 1. How did the parents know Jackson fled to Mexico before Ranger Ramirez could tell them? 2. How did the Mexican thug know that Jackson was boy's killer after he tried to jump and rob him? 3. How did the Mexican thug know Jackson's full name when he threatened him at the bar? 4. The emotional turn of Jackson made no sense. You just shot a young boy and watched him die. Meanwhile, your brother is in the hospital on life support. You flee to Mexico and essentially start your life over again with a new Mexican family as their horse trainer. Not to mention he was likely going to hook up with the daughter. Oh wait, then guilt kicks in that you're a wanted suspect on the run. No big deal, let me read Huckleberry Finn to a kid on the bus. 5. Not to get to deep in the legality of things, but doesn't it become Federal when a suspect crosses state or country lines? So why wasn't US Marshals or FBI involved? Just found it hard to believe that Ranger Ramirez would enter another country for a fugitive without any warrant or support. 6. Was there a reason why they made Ranger Ramirez's character a non Spanish speaker? 7. The ending: Was he being extradited to Mexico prison? I thought the crime happened on US land?
Can you return a movie on Prime? This is the most liberal garbage I have watched in a very long time. I’m disgusted that I bought this. The dude goes to prison for attempting to protect his father after his father is stabbed and brother gets shot(with his own gun)... there’s the most ridiculous ending for you ever. I spared you $15 you’re welcome.
So predictable. So politically correct. So stereotypical. Such shallow dialogue. So incredibly bad.
Basically, two brothers get enough money to do a film about the plight of illegal immigrants and how misunderstood they are to the fat, racist white "minutemen" on the border.
One brother gets to direct, the other gets to star as the apparently mentally deficient baseball phenom who wanders off into Mexico, stalked by the one crazy blonde Mexican coyote who turns up absolutely everywhere the simpleton white boy travels to encounter all the wonderful and compassionate people of Mexico - including the beautiful but spunky senorita who just happens to be exactly the right age for a love interest.
Who could ever guess that the simple white kid trying traveling across Mexico to atone for shooting an innocent illegal migrant boy would learn just how racist his family trying to protect themselves from coyotes and cartels have been all these years.
What a small world that most of the players would wind up on the same rickety bus bound for the same remote Mexican town.
No Man's Land is a ridiculous waste of time. My only question is, whom did they pay for all the positive reviews?
This film is totally out of reality, 1. “The Shepherd” that keep saying he does not act as coyote but take people across the border illegally and nothing happens to him, not even fells guilty since he started this scenario. 2. The family couldn’t even claim a self defense when they tried to protect their property legally from the illegal immigrants that stabbed the property’s owner causing his other son got shot by his rifle in a fight when the immigrant tried to take it from him. Any layer would claim a self defense with no problem specially in Texas. 3. How a US police patrol got in Mexico with no warranty and/or a task force with him?!? 4. When there are 2 countries involved, you would need to have at least the FBI on that case or US Marshall. 5. How come a police patrol does not speak any Spanish since he looks like a guy that is close at his retirement working too many years as a border patrol. I mean , not even the immigrant that stabbed the farmer has been charged to tried to murder a farmer in the US soil. 6. Not even the Shepard was charged that had a green card and was trespassing the illegal immigrants back in forth for many years, In the end, just the farmer’s son was arrested. This was more an ideological movie that was trying to give an justification for the illegal immigration than trying to give a solution for it. There are always other options to portray the neglect of the society than fulminating the illegality trying to blame the people that is trying to protect their family from the cartel in the border.
Terrible movie!! Not real at all. Don’t waste your money!!!! Mexicans don’t get treated with half the decency when they cross border. But this man in Mexico kills a boy and he only does 2 years in jail?!!!! NO STARS!
