I enjoyed reading this book. It was well written, it had a steady pace right to the end, some heated love scenes, action, adventure, a great cast of secondary characters (that stayed secondary) and some warped villains - it had it all!

Daniel was an outstanding hero. He is smart, handsome, giving, brave and very, very understanding. Jessie is a good heroine, but I thought she was a bit selfish. I believe she loves Daniel - but I felt like she used him at the beginning.

Daniel was the shining star of this book in my opinion. The book is worth reading, simply because he is in it.

I would recommend this book and I hope that Gordon is the hero of the next one!

Mary Jo Putney is an amazing writer with intelligence and wit. Her Heroines are well constructed with drama but without being too flighty or ridiculous. (Something I find annoying). The Hero is wonderfully well written, and I had looked forward to reading more of him since reading his sister's story in "Not Quite A Wife". Although each story is a great stand alone, I highly recommend reading the series.
