So bad
Verified purchase
Generally don't like to share negativity, but I feel like I need to save others from this horrible movie. The story just doesn't make much sense. These people are supposed to be best friends but they seem to have no real connection to each other. We are supposed to believe all these people travelled form great distances for this wedding and the bride and groom are only in two scenes. The bride has like two lines and the groom has zero. They try to weave 09-11 into it and it just falls flat. The couple that is supposed to be the less attractive couple are the only redeeming believable characters in the whole thing. I'm a rom com junkie and this was just bad.

I would say don't watch unless you like to be bored

I would say don't watch unless you like to be bored, really bored. Several story lines going on which none of them are believeable. The only good thing is that it has an ending. I thought several times about ending it myself but I didn't have time to start anything else so I watched it to the credits rolled. The only good thing I got from it is there were some right decisions made by the characters in the story, opposite of what you normally get out of Hollywood.

A Favorite Romance

I had watched this on Netflix a few times and knew that I'd eventually want to own it. I'm so glad it's finally available on DVD. I especially like the music that plays throughout, and I enjoy the easy flow of the story as it progresses from scene to scene. It has a good message about relationships, too, which is refreshing in the days where every movie is about a broken home or a divorce. I can relate to the feelings the main two characters have for each other when they see each other again for the first time in years, so it was interesting to see how well they captured the emotions of the moment. Definitely one of those easy-to-watch romantic movies that some people search for and love. It's what my husband would call a "chick flick" and that's fine with me. It's one of my favorites to watch by myself.

Excellent acting throughout, excellent music, photography, good story
Verified purchase
Exceptionally good acting by Sara Rue and Kathleen Robertson, among many others. Several sub-plots but I didn't have any trouble understanding them & keeping them separate. Various plot conclusions were not guessable until they played themselves out. After some conflicts, they played out towards ethical ends, which was gratifying. Music was well integrated with the plot, and sound quality of the music recording as well as dialogue was excellent. Beginning graphics, titles and music was excellent. Movie edit ran a little long towards the end but it was a fine film.

Give This One A Chance

Seems like the reviews were either liked it or you didnt. I enjoyed my Sunday afternoon viewing. I followed along and understood everyone's point of entry. It wasn't about the bridal couple, but those who reconnected because of the event. I for one, didn't need to have intense drama. I could identify.
It was done well. I didn't even think of comparing it to the Big Chill. It deserves a chance.

My girlfriend loved it! I kind of suffered through it
Verified purchase
There's a tremendous amount of talking in this movie. What I'd call a lot of character development. My girlfriend loved it! I kind of suffered through it. I won't ever watch it again, so I gave it to her. It is, in my opinion, truly a movie that is geared toward women. One where as a guy we say, "I don't get why that's such a big deal?" And the woman goes, "Oh! You're just hopeless!" {:-)

blander than most
Verified purchase
I don't mind a bland romantic comedy, but this was blander than most. For example: a character says something pretty plainly and the opposite character says, " what are you saying, (name)?" MORE THAN ONCE.

Elden Hensen and Sara Rue were the only two characters (and actors) that I found interesting.

Well done moving, lots of dynamics neatly sorted

Wow. Amazing movie. I understand the mixed reviews but I totally liked and appreciated all the storylines and undercurrents going on. I remember my own once upon a time when you believe your circle will never end and then it does. Very well done. If only real life could be all tied up so neatly.
