One last tip - save the Amazon box that the pump is packaged in and store the pump and hoses in there so the hoses are more relaxed. Do not store the hoses back in the original package or they will become coiled and kinked again.
However, when I was pumping the viscous gear oil, pressure built up in the outlet hose and it blew apart—sending oil in my face.
Properly attach the hoses, and wear eye protection.
Laid it out on the deck, hoses pointing down, for 12 hours or so in the sun to let all the hydrocarbon fumes evaporate, and loosely boxed it up in the rare event I ever need it again. Labeled all 6 sides of the box so I can find the dopey thing 8 years from now when I have to use it again.
The includes hoses are not heavy but look like the will be OK. Overall the pump includes:
multi-use siphon pump
liquid intake hose
two hose connectors
air pressure hose
I wasn't looking for the air adapter, but that was a welcome surprise. I tested it and it does work for filling a soccer ball, etc.
They pump works fine with water, gas, etc. and I saw no leaks, although I was concerned, again with it being ll plastic.
I will update this review after more use, should teh product fail, etc.
I'm sure I will be using this for other automotive chores, like draining the old fuel out of motorcycles that sat all winter, or changing the oil out of lawnmowers. I love that it can drain right into a bottle, which can then be closed, labeled, and easily recycled. That is good for shop cleanliness, and good for the environment too. It says that it will inflate tires, but I really don't think it would be strong enough. It is, however, perfect for transferring fluids. Great tool. I would recommend to any home mechanic.

After use, I pumped through a few jugs of water to clean it out and put it back on the shelf to use for another day.
My only complaint is that the tubes that go into the tanks are curved or rolled up - most tubes come this way I know - so when trying to get into the far corners of a tank it's a bit of fandangaling! The tubes that do come with it are as long as I needed, and seem to be of durable material that can handle many usages.
All that being said I'm happy with my purchase and would consider buying it again.
I read how it was advisable to clean the unit out if I wanted to reuse it. Once I figured out to separate the rubber end from the main body (to get access to the inside of the pump) you have to first pull off the hard black plastic ring (that holds the rubber ends to the main body) it was easy to take apart. So, I took it apart and washed it with dish soap and hot water, let it all dry, then put some WD40 on all the parts.
When i tried to use it again a few months later, it had no suction at all. I opened it, and the gaskets had all warped and would no longer close. I managed to make it work a little by flipping the gasket around, but this solution will not last.
Overall, if you plan on pumping anything but water, look elsewhere.
