From the Back Cover
Shannon Wilde is the middle sister--and the one who loves animals. She's established her own homestead and is raising sheep for their wool. Things are going fine...until Shannon gets swept over a cliff by Matthew Tucker!
Tucker seizes every opportunity to get away from civilization, but one particular walk in the woods ends with him sprinting away from an angry grizzly and plunging into a raging river, accidentally taking Shannon Wilde with him. Their adventure in the wilderness results in the solitary mountain man finding himself hitched to a young woman with a passel of relatives, a homestead, and a flock of sheep to care for.
As Tucker and Shannon learn to live with each other, strange things begin to happen on Shannon's land. Someone clearly wants to drive her off, but whoever it is apparently didn't count on Tucker. Trying to scare Matthew Tucker just makes him mad--and trying to hurt the woman he's falling in love with sets off something even he never expected.

Notes from September 2017:
Plot and Setting: 4.4 -- The first part of the story is how they meet, in a bizarre and life-threatening situation, and are basically forced to get married. Then it shifts a bit to them back in full health, mostly adjusted to married life, and dealing with the mysterious man who is forcing homesteaders off their claims. Lots of action and suspense, plus humor and the formation of a solid marriage relationship, despite Tucker's failure to be very romantic.
Characters: 4.4 -- I liked Shannon's determination to save the lives of those she cares for, whether that's Tucker when he's injured or her sheep. I liked her strength and skill, and also how she came to trust and rely on Tucker for protection and safety. It never directly explains her aversion to meat, but I'd say she has good reason, given what she saw and did in the war. Though he doesn't have a clue about romance, I loved Tucker's determination to not make the same mistakes in his own marriage that he saw in others' growing up. I also appreciated that minor characters were given such distinct personalities and stories, even the villain.
Mechanics and Writing: 5 -- Skillful writing. Very few errors, including compound word confusion (consistent use of paper work instead of paperwork). Also about 4 inconsistencies that I noticed, such as Gage using feminine pronouns for Shannon in one spot before he knows she's a woman, and saying Shannon served in the army for 2 years in one place, while everywhere else it says 3 years. Things like that. POV mostly alternates between Tucker and Shannon, plus some others, including Bailey, Gage, and Stewbold.
Redeeming Value: 4.7 -- Though only kisses happen 'on screen,' it's clear that sex is enjoyed as one of the benefits of marriage. Memories of the horrors of the Civil War, and especially the gruesome reality of the hospital tents, with so much blood, death, and crude amputation of limbs. This doesn't take up many pages in the book, but the memories clearly impact Shannon throughout, only lessening when she finally tells Tucker about her nightmares. A lesson in trusting God even with our doubts.
Personal Enjoyment: 5
! Love, love love the characters of Shannon and Turner, and the storyline was a fun yet full of adventure!
I don't like reviews that just give short novella of what the story tells! But, I will say this, if you read this book you won't regret it!! Some real LOL moments are tucked in thus craxy love story!
