My first test was to recording a lecture of a guest speaker using an image projector. I installed the camera hanging from the ceiling few inches from the built-in-ceiling-tile-speaker broadcasting the lecturer. The result should be an amazing sound input level, but the real recorded output was disappointing. The image of the surroundings was great and the motion was awesome, but the picture shown by the projector was just a blast of light, without definition. A regular consumer camcorder that was recording 10 feet away from the lecturer did a much better job delivering sound twice as louder and a flawless picture of the person and the projection. So far, I'm only impressed by the motion feature to keep the camera.

Let's face it. You can get a better static camera cheaper. The reason to buy an OBSBIT Tiny is for what makes it unique (the camera controls!)... For me by day I work from home running a sales team. Anyone in this position knows, that getting the right zoom depending on a few factors (what I'm wearing, what's behind me, did I shave) get to be a struggle. I also by night work with my Guitar instructor in my music program, so I need to zoom into my guitar and back to myself often. I have a Logitech 920 that works great, but the lack of zoom control, or camera position was driving me to drink. I spend the $$ for the OBSBOT for a reason, and so far I love it more than hate it.

Reasons to Love it: see above...
I can control it with ease. Zoom in if my room is not presentable, or my T-shirt is less than meeting ready, or zoom out for the more professional setting.
Target Lock is great for presenting, which was basically impossible or awkward before.

Reasons to Hate it:
There are some problems OBSBOT needs to fix ASAP.
The software can be a bit buggy. 1. If you turn the camera to sleep, sometimes it doesn't return without unplugging the cam and plugging it back in. (Note: changing the cam in the application to another, and back solves this * most of the time). 2. Gesture controls don't always work, it sometimes takes a bit of Finesse, It sometimes doesn't work with virtual backgrounds). 3. Preset positions are pretty good, but sometimes don't realign especially if the cam is bumped, but it works mostly. 4. Design of the APP needs improvement. The system Settings is not docked to the main app, the device status (resume / sleep) is in the system settings, should be in the cam (settings should be set and forget, not daily use)... App conrol is cool, but it is big and takes up screen real estate. A minimum view (doc) would be great). 5. Does not work with Xsplit software (or at least I can't figure out how).

I think one day it will be great, right now, its very good, and if you have similar use cases as me, worth it. If you need a simple web cam, there are cheaper options. (FYI, you don't buy a nail gun to drive one nail... You don't buy an OBSBOT if you don't need zoom automation / tracking).

We purchased two of these to use for Zoom (through OBSStudio). Worked great, for a while but then one of the cameras went south as they say. First flickering which made the picture annoying and eventually no picture at all. We contacted OBSBOT under their warranty program to get it replaced or fixed. Good luck with that. All you get is one e-mail after another; try this, try that, send us this, send us that. Finally, after a month, when they asked for a copy of our purchase receipt for the third time and to "try a different cable" after we had explained in detail all of the cables we had attempted to use, it became obvious that they had no intention of ever allowing us to send this camera in for repair.

The camera now sits on my desk. Still operational (we can tilt/pan) but with no picture, which makes it pretty much useless as a camera.

3 weeks later update. [end of Feb '23]
OBSBOT finally must have reviewed the paperwork we submitted along with the video of the camera malfunctioning... or they red this review. After weeks of delay they finally asked me to send in the camera saying they would replace it with a newer model, the 4k. Fantastic I think. But turns out there was a mistake and they would only send the same camera.... still very fair. I offered to pay the difference so we could upgrade our system but that was not available. Unfortunate, we had already purchased and tested a 4k camera and found them much, much better than the 1080p and were anxious to upgrade our remaining 1080p camera.

So I would now rate their service as much better, simply too slow for anyone that needs to have a weekly broadcast as we do. We could not "afford" to be without a camera for the length of time their process took.

I purchased this camera to replace an older camera for a small auditorium where remote attendees can tie through online conferencing. The picture quality is so crisp, I can't believe we put up with that older camera for so long. This camera also had a much wider angle than we had before, which was the main reason for purchasing this camera. The software allows for a great deal of configurability depending on your needs and lighting. The fact that you can set it up to track a speaker and that you can have camera preset positions is also a major bonus. I am seriously considering getting another one.

La cámara comenzó a funcionar tan pronto como la conecté a la laptop. Actualizar el firmware fue un poco problemático pero finalmente lo logré. Lo que más me gusta de esta cámara, además de la calidad de la imagen, es que cuenta con IA, es TPZ (tilt, pan & zoom), es compacta y se puede montar sobre cualquier tripié. Para montarla sobre una laptop directamente, se requiere pegar una parte del adaptador con un adhesivo que supongo solo funciona una vez.

For the price this small oscillating camera is a very smart engine. There are three modes headroom, standard and motion. In motion mode the camera uses AI tracking to look for facial features. It also has two gesture controls one for cancel, the other for zoom in and out. Picture quality is pretty crisp and audio is good. Definitely worth the price for this little gadget. Being small it's great on portability. It comes with it's own stand with included magnet. You can also attach to a tripod and get a 360 angle if that's to your interest. Pretty satisfied with this small beast.
