I mean, its a socket and it does its job, but $15 for a socket seems a bit steep when the price of a normal socket is about $3 and ended up having to use this for a few bolts that bolted down the front seats of my suv
Careful changing the drive size. I searched for a TP55 and the 3/8" comes up. I change the drive to 1/2" and the picture says TO55, but when I add it to the cart, it changes to TP60. I'm actually pretty smart, but I did it two times.
TP55 torx plus is the right size/socket type to remove the star shape bolts from my 2009 Ford E350 bench seat brackets. Also works on a 2003 Ford E350 so it should on Econoline 2003 - 2014. Not sure why another reviewer said the socket did work on their 2008 model. Note: Also the standard T55 socket will work. It's not as snug (loose fit but it locks in as you turn) so you gotta make sure it's properly perpendicularly aligned to the bolt or might risk the chance of stripping the bolt.
This is the correct socket to remove the front seats in a 2003 Ford E-350 Club Wagon van. I originally thought I needed a regular Torx T-55 socket; however, some research indicated that Ford used a Torx Plus TP-55 head for these bolts, so I purchased this socket. The socket is well made; the bit fits the bolt head well and I expect it to last a long time.
2019 UPDATE BELOW Exactly the tool I needed to remove the seat brackets on my 2003 Ford E350 van. Felt quality when I used it, only really used it once. Will probably store it with the brackets for re-installation when needed.
02.2019 Since original review, have used the bit many more times, continues to work perfectly for removal and reinstallation.
