Richard Burton in Obsession
Verified purchase
Richard Burton is magnificent with Tatum O'Neal, but he was always magnificent in everything and anything. Obsession is about a sixty-year-old painter whose artistic talent has waned. The sixteen-year-old younger, Sarah, played by O'Neal has great chemistry with Burton, sparks him to paint again. This movie is tastefully done without crossing any age lines. I had never seen or heard of this movie, but glad I found it by accident on Amazon Prime. It's good enough that I'm going to watch it again just to listen to Burton's accent.

Title is CIRCLE OF TWO and not Obsession
Verified purchase
Obsession is a movie starring Cliff Robertson directed by Brian De Palma. This is a male fantasy called Circle of Two involving a romance between a teenage girl and a 60 year old man. It's not a bad movie and not as creepy as one would think being that the man seems like the one who is less... um... obsessed. Another reason it's pure male fantasy.

They don’t make movies like this anymore. What a love they had! What two passionate and beautiful souls they were. And the song at the end was icing on the cake. This was a great movie with great acting and dialogue. It focused on the aesthetic aspects of love and not sex. This movie was a great one to watch from start to end.

Love Richard Burton

Was looking for movies on prime with Richard Burton. Love him in everything I've seen him in. Tatum O'Neal plays her part very well. The movie is in good taste. It catches you up in their story in a touching way. Worth seeing.

Rare and heartwarming; not salacious but inspiring.

This movie is a rare find. It is literate, tasteful, engaging, and highly believable. It had to be produced in Canada as Hollywood would have ruined it with sensationalism. This is a tale of true love, of two people lifting and growing and reinventing each other - one near the end of life and the other at the beginning. Touching. Watch it again and again.

Butchered on Prime Video -- 12 minutes cut. Shame on FilmRise !
Under its original title of Circle of Two, and on DVD here, this movie runs 106 minutes. Streaming customers get a 94 minute version. How absurd, considering the mild content of the original. Censorship like this is common on Amazon's streaming service, but unusual for a FilmRise package. I'm disgusted.

But doesn't it make us think what love is about
Yes, it was made in a tasteful way. But doesn't it make us think what love is about? It is funny they were obsessed about age! That is why the title is Obsession?

Stellar performances by the iconic Richard Burton and the alluring Tatum O' Neal. This is reality and happens all the time in life it may be a different setting, people but every movie is based on real life. I will not get into details because it will ruin the movie. I rank this as one of my desert island movies and believe me this will be a life changing event and will stay with you for the rest of your life. I suggest you better ready something to wipe out your tears or get busy after watching this love story and tragedy, I wept the whole day and my life was never the same again.
