Intelligent, absurdist, delectably frivolous, and refreshingly non-sequitur -- somehow, this show delivers it all while cleverly shoehorning in lessons about math for kids! Parents and kiddos can enjoy this show together. Both will enjoy the humor. Kids will benefit from the math lessons. And parents will take comfort in knowing that their children's' time spend on this show is not wasted. Useful lessons on the life-application of mathematics weave throughout. Additionally, for grown-ups of a more bohemian bent (like myself), you will appreciate the subtle critique this show offers towards overly organized, far-too-sensical society. Sometimes we need to heed the advice of a Dr. Seuss or a David Byrne: stop making sense. Being silly is good for your health. We need not be so serious, nor shall mathematics be typecast as such any longer. Mathematical prowess and an unleashed imagination actually go hand in hand. So free your mind, embrace the strange, and take a on a case with the Squad.

Odd squad is fun for kids.

My daughters love odd squad. It's definitely odd... The episodes usually center around solving a problem using math, science or teamwork - usually a combination of those. The acting is complete cheese. The educational value doesn't scale as much as it could, with the smart kids still counting up addition on their fingers. As an adult I struggle to watch and interact with my kids during these episodes without mocking some of the ridiculousness, but the kids love em.

I don't mind hearing it in the background and feel like she is learning while watching

My 4.5 year old loves this show and has watched every episode multiple times. She learned symmetry and has been working on counting by 2's, 3's, and etc from this show. This is the FIRST non-animated show she has ever requested. I don't mind hearing it in the background and feel like she is learning while watching. I think this is a great addition to PBS's line up.

My 7 year old daughter likes to watch this show and we hear a lot of laughing and giggling coming from her room. Amazon Video has so many great shows for her to watch that are very age appropriate. I gave this show only 4 stars out of five because there are other shows that she loves and watches more frequently but this is still an awesome show and recommended.

Not a guilt producting screen time program - Time well spent

My eight year old daughter absolutely loves this series and I too find it entertaining. It is clever and educational without being cheesy. My daughter especially loves watching it on our Kindle with Amazon Prime wherein she can touch a face and get all the career information for whomever is on the screen. So neat and we can look for other work product from those favorite actors and actresses. This is an excellent program kids that adults will enjoy as well.

An educational kids show that parents can enjoy!
Verified purchase
Occasionally you get a kids show that is enjoyable for parents too. This is one. The plots and themes are solidly within the realm of kids. They are severely predictable, adults will know in the early moment of the show how it will end. However, the gags and humor throughout the show make me want to sit and watch alongside my grade-school kids. There are tons of puns, and most of them are math puns. There also just odd funny things that they deal with because they are the Odd Squad.

Well done show for kids- both silly and smart

I have a 5 year old and an 8 year old and they both love this show. They like that all the actors are kids like them; and the script is clever and silly. Plus they do a great job incorporating math concepts into each episode.
