He’s everything she should resist.
She’s everything he shouldn’t want.
But neither of them are willing to walk away because together, their demons seem that little bit easier to silence.

Wow!! What a book. I was hooked from the very first page to the very last sentence. The drama, the pain, the secrets and the inevitable sadness, kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. This is a...don't miss, page turner, five star plus read. But I am giving it ten book lover stars.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 📚
Safety, complete safe. She is a virgin, nothing given about his background except for a statement about him “hooking up” With a girl the previous summer (before he met the h). But even that was just a general statement with no details as the term “hooked up” is used in other area of the book to refer to making out with someone at a party. I was glad she left it vague, personally. Way to many ow details and scenes were given in the last series.
The only thing I didn’t love is how much info we already given about the other stories, I would have liked a little less info just because I like going in blind with certain details. I can be a judgmental stick, what can I say. I have already noticed a pattern with the girls and it’s bugs me I don’t know why several authors have their second then girls have the exact same sex as their mom. It’s creepy. It doesn’t bother me in the case of virgins because everyone starts out as a virgin, so it makes sense. These are high schoolers not college age or new adult. But another characters past is listed and I found it disappointed. She slept with a random guy for no reason just to get rid of it basically. Exactly like her mom, at the same age. That’s creepy. That’s not how works. But moving on. It turned me off because it’s pretty obvious that she’s in love with a different guy and had been for a few years. A guy who has been through hell, and I kind of feel like could have benefited from her loyalty. Not putting herself in his business all the time then running off with an “appropriate guy” to date and hook up with. That kids already been through hel* . There really isn’t a need to go all over sex positive and celebrate anyone out sleeping around. Some people state that there’s a double standard with sex, but actually there are a couple. But why the only double standard that counts have to be a girl complaining that it’s ok if guys hook up, but if a girl does she’s a slut? Well personally I feel male or female sleeping around with multiple people in high school is a turn off. I don’t know what it’s like to be in a guys head, so I can’t speak for them but as a girl at that age I didn’t do that nor did my friends. We were in high school. So no... Not causally. It’s hard for me to identify with. One of the reasons that I like this genre is the chance to see someone fall for their first love. A chance to see them before they’ve been jerked around by a few a-holes etc. But no one ever seems to bring up how it’s screwed up that it’s ok for a girl who be a virgin but they won’t write a guy virgin... I’m just not sure how that works. If one thing is a double standard than it all is. For me personally, I like how it was handled here. Mention it if someone’s a virgin and if not leave their past in the past. I want to the book about the two characters listed in the summery, not every drunken hookup thrown in for shock value.
So anyway, despite my mini tangent, I loved this story and am definitely looking forward to a few of the 2nd-gen stories.
Being my first L. A. Cotton read I wasn't too sure about what to expect. I loved that Lily had overcome a trauma, but still battled her anxiety issue, too.
I am keen to see what happens, moving forward.
If you are new to the series, never you fear- you can dive in right here without having read the OG series. But, fans of the original Rixon raiders will be delighted that this is the story of Jason and Felicity’s daughter Lily- and her romance with Kaiden Thatcher, the son of Jason’s high school nemesis and now aspiring quarterback of the Rixon team. This story has all the markings of what I love about young love stories-sweet connections, hesitant and intense firsts, high school drama, overpowering first love emotions, and a powerful chemistry beyond the years of our cast. While the architecture of this story may feel familiar, LA brings something extra special to this story that really sets it apart- and not only with the Romeo and Juliet vibes of their date’s animosity. We also get the forbidden touch since Kaiden is on her dad’s football team and we have the compelling dynamic of Kaiden and Lily’s personal baggage- Kaiden’s anger issues and challenging relationship with his father and Lily’s at times debilitating anxiety issues.
I could not love Lily more. Who doesn’t love a character arc where the gentled, insecure wallflower finds her voice?! I loved her sweet and loving heart- and I loved her emotional vulnerability as a heroine. She’s quiet- but she’s not meek. Her strength comes from her resilience. She’s so brave and beautiful. And Kaiden- he’s so entrancing. He’s more than your classic hotshot athlete who falls for the pretty, nerdy girl- he’s got a lot of substance, a tender and wounded heart, and a refreshing openness. And while he makes some teenage mistakes, the way he loves and supports Lily just squished my whole heart.
Together, these two are SO sweet and swoony. There is an immediate emotional intimacy between them- a sweet and sincere connection that feels bright and fresh amidst all the hormonal drama around them. Lily gives Kaiden a quiet strength- she centers him, quiets the noise in his life. She sees him for his heart. And Kaiden helps Lily embrace herself- gives her strength to step out of her sheltered bubble. LA tells both of their stories with such compassion, especially Lily’s anxiety, and I loved watching them both grow up and mature- and doing so because of the way they brought out the best in each other. JUST ADORABLE.
I am so in love with this cast of characters- I’m dying for ALL of their stories. The friendships are just as vividly and compellingly created- the girl gang in particular is just so fantastic. IN the way their parents are best friends and family, we see this group of teenages lean on and care for each other- friendships that are more like family.
What a fantastic debut to this next series- that somehow both evokes all my nostalgic fondness for the original series while also establishing its own fresh point of view. The next generation is going to be more complicated, more angsty, and even more emotional- and I am here for all of it. We get tons of hints about couples to come. And Peyton’s book- I AM DYING FOR IT!

Lily & Kaiden
Lily had an experience when she was younger at the hands of some nasty girls that's developed into anxiety & some other social issues.
She's shy, loving, keeps to herself. Has a great support network of friends and family who are fiercely protective of her.
Until she catches the eye of Kaiden.
Kaiden and a couple of his team mates have transferred as their school burned down. And Rixon High has the best football coach. Kaiden lives and breaths football, he wants to go to Alabama, the further away from Rixon and his father tbe better.
But the mixing of these two teams (who also happen to be rivals) to become one is going to be rocky.
When he sees the girl who hides behind her friends he can't help but be drawn to her.
But when he learns that Lily is his coach's daughter, he knows he shouldn't be anywhere near her.
Kaiden makes Lily feel things she's never experienced before, she wants to be like her friends and have fun.
It's the same for Kaiden, but how can he choose between football and her?
Throw in some history between their fathers and a catty cheerleader and you've got yourself a great read.

This book tells the story of Lily, the shy girl, who is the coach's daughter. She has had a rough time in the past and it's trying to experience new things in her last year of high school. Kaiden is the star football player, that is trying so badly to fit in to this new team and also jungle the problems he has at home. They both fall in the same circle of friends and Kaiden is so drawn to Lily's unique personality, but of course when he finds out she is the coach's daughter that changes everything.
I loved Lily throughout this book. She was all shy and nervous and didn't want to try new things, but with the help of her friends and Kaiden, she overcome those things and grew up by the end of the book.
Kaiden was so swoon worthy. He might look like the playboy type, but deep down he was always there, protecting and helping Lily. I loved their chemistry.
The secondary characters played a big role in this book and I love that. I loved all of Lily's friends and that we get to see their personalities. Even their parents played a big role in this!
Overall, it was another amazing book from Lianne. I cannot wait for the next book, I feel like it's going to be amazing.
I definitely recommend this book and the first generation as well.

I really didnt think I would love Kaiden but thankfully he was nothing like his dad, to be fair I think he was better than Jase (did I just say that) Lily was definitely a Ford- she may have had her issues but the girl was strong and it was great to see her grow in confidence.. Kily had so much chemistry from the beginning and it just grew throughout..
Jase was exactly how I thought he would be as a dad- I loved how he confronted Kaiden.
I LOVED the snippets of the parents and the other characters
Totally rooting for
Cole and Sofia- more to that story for sure
Aaron and Poppy- so obvious
Peyton and Xander - seriously can't wait.. I need more
Ashleigh and Ezra- very intrigued with Ezra!!!I
The bonds and closeness was everything, if I could give more than 5 stars I would

Off-Limits (Rixon High #1)
We have shy girl Lily, damaged in her formative years, by mean girls, out to demean & destroy her self worth & confidence. Then we have Kaiden, a tough kid but darn good as QB. He's had it hard with his Dad's drinking & becoming more & more bitter over the years. With his school burning down he is starting senior year, with a few of his football team mates, at Rixon High, hoping Coach Ford will give them a fair shot at making the team.🙏 Football is Kaidens only chance of escaping Rixon & his Dad's verbal abuse & bitterness.
Lily & Kaiden both gravitate towards each other. They realise quite quickly they're more than just friends & have the potential for something really serious!💘 He's understanding of her issues, hang ups & fears and compensates beautifully for her. Lily is so damaged she's just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Her anxieties are crippling her.😢 He really brings a lightness to her & a side of courage she's lacked for years!🔥💘
Full of ups & downs. Hurt & heart. This is an often painful look at social anxiety & the cruel results of bullying!💔 Also the downside of prejudging someone on one past mistake without knowing all the facts but especially when allowing prejudice of your knowledge of one family member to taint your view of another!!😡
I enjoyed this first full length book in this series & look forward to more!🌟

Rixon High is my must-read series of 2021. But really, was there any doubt that L.A. Cotton wouldn't once again deliver the goods and produce yet another great series. Ms. Cotton just knows how to draw everything out of a YA romance. Off-Limits has taken what could have been another story of a bad boy QB who falls for the Coaches daughter and turned it into a deeply moving story, of Lily, a young girl who tries to stay hidden, out of the limelight, just trying to get through the last year of High School. What she wasn't expecting was to be drawn to Kaiden, a boy all though tough on the outside, is a little be broken inside too. Kaiden knows he just needs to stay out of trouble, concentrate on football to get his shot at a football scholarship. Kaiden knows he needs to steer clear of Lily, he knows there is bad history between his dad and Lily's dad, but try telling his heart that.
I didn't really need to write a review, all I really want to say is read it, you won't be disappointed.
