Yasmine lives in the Seattle WA area with her husband and is the mother of four cats.
Because so many people ask, you pronounce her name this way: Yaz-mihn (NOT Jasmine--it's a "Y", not a "J"). Last name is pronounced: Gal-eh-norn The accent is on the first syllable.
I have been teaching almost 40 years at high poverty schools in the rural South, and I still love going to work every day--usually!
"Notes from a Classroom" is a collection of essays about my students. "A Child's Book of Virtues" is a multicultural collection of stories and myths for intermediate readers.
I also write literary fiction when I'm not grading papers and writing a regular op-ed for The Charlotte Observer. "Why Women Moan In Bed" won the Norman Mailer Fiction Prize in 2012. Other short stories have been featured in regional journals, such as Luck, The Charlotte Writers Anthology, Main Street Rag, and We Are Not This.
For sci-fi and fantasy fans, "Orphans in the Black: A Space Opera" features 19 terrific writers (and my story "The Alien" is part of this e-book collection).
For fantasy fans, "Once Upon a Quest" is a terrific retelling of 15 fairy tales. Check out my story "Cat White" based on the French fairy tale "The White Cat."
For readers looking for a sci-fi fantasy mash-up, check our "Once Upon a Star." My story, "Candy House," is a sci-fi retelling of "Hansel and Gretel."
Phaedra's imagination and love of television and movie characters often rewarded her with strange looks at school. Her love of science fiction and fantasy blossomed when her cousin Cyndy gave her Anne McCaffrey's "Dragon Flight" for her twelfth birthday.
Other interests are manga, anime, gaming, hiking, waterfalls and spending time with her daughter and too many hours in Final Fantasy XIV.
Her series are The Eldritch Files, The Grimoire Chronicles and the Cast In Shadow Series, (now under the name Phaedra Weldon). There is also the Castle Falls Cozy Paranormal Series, the Women's Paranormal Fiction series named Ravenwood Hills, and she has just started her first Epic Fantasy duology (depending on how it goes, it might become longer).
She is also working on her first non-fiction book, The Writer's Garden, which has become a therapeutic journey into ideas, words, burnout and recovery. She's testing it out on her blog under The Writer's Garden.

Jenna Elizabeth Johnson is a bestselling, multi-award winning author of epic and contemporary fantasy. Jenna grew up and still resides on the Central Coast of California, a place she finds as magical and enchanting as the worlds she creates.
Jenna received a BA in Art Practice with a minor in Celtic Studies from the University of California at Berkeley. It was during her time in college that she decided to begin her first novel, The Legend of Oescienne - The Finding. Reading such works as Beowulf, The Mabinogi and The Second Battle of Maige Tuired in her Scandinavian and Celtic Studies courses finally inspired her to start writing down her own tales of adventure and fantasy.
Besides writing, Jenna is often found reading, hiking and camping, tending to her flock of backyard chickens, and practicing HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) with an emphasis on German longsword. She also loves getting feedback from readers, so feel free to send her a message any time.
Jenna is currently working on her ongoing Otherworld and Draghans of Firiehn series, as well as any other book ideas that might come to her along the way. Colleen Gleason is the NEW YORK TIMES and USA Today bestselling author of the Gardella Vampire Chronicles. She has more than forty titles in print and writes in so many different genres she says she's "got a read for every mood."
Colleen lives in the Midwest with her family and three dogs, and is currently working on her next novel.
Kasey Mackenzie lives with her husband and son in St. Louis, Missouri; home of the Gateway Arch, the baseball Cardinals, and the world's greatest thin-crust pizza. Kasey was one of those students who always had her nose in a book--so no big surprise when she was voted "Teacher's Pet" in her high school yearbook. Today, she is a voracious reader of fantasy, romance, suspense, and science fiction. She adores her German shepherd puppy, wicked kitty cat, playing softball, and teaching Zumba. Passionate about the written word, she feels extremely lucky to make a living as an editor and writer. Now, if she could just figure out how to get paid for cleaning her own house, maybe that would happen more often...

I've wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember. We moved around a lot when I was little, so I can easily pin down my age based on where we lived, which means I was maybe 6 when I first made this proclamation. My writing has changed quite a bit over the years, although I am still proud of the short story I wrote in 8th grade about an orangutan named Inconspicuous.
My writing focuses on characters. I've created stories about ghosts, clones, monsters, escape artists, mermaids, circus performers ... I'm all over the map. But in every single story I do my utmost to get into the minds and hearts of my characters. I love to put them in awful situations to see how they feel, and how they think. I want them to agonize over their choices, and I want what they choose - or don't choose - to matter. I want the reader to feel joy when a character succeeds, and to cry when they don't - just like I do when I'm writing the story.

After losing her first summer job detasseling corn, Shawntelle performed various jobs—from fast-food clerk to grunt programmer to university webmaster. Writing eccentric characters is her most favorite job of them all. On any particular day when she’s not surgically attached to her computer, she can be found watching cheesy horror movies or the latest action-packed anime. A native of Southern California, USA Today bestselling author Christine Pope has been writing stories ever since she commandeered her family’s Smith-Corona typewriter back in grade school. Because she's a lover of many genres, her books include paranormal romance, fantasy romance, and paranormal cozy mystery. She blames this on being easily distracted by bright, shiny objects, which could also account for the size of her shoe collection. The Land of Enchantment cast its spell on her while she was researching her Djinn Wars series, and she now makes her home in New Mexico.

Nikki Jefford is an award-winning, bestselling author of paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and quirky combinations in-between.
She is a third-generation Alaskan now living in the Pacific Northwest with her Westie, Cosmo, and her French husband, who she wouldn't trade in for anyone--not even Spike or Mr. Darcy!
When she's not writing, she's reading, walking, or out riding her motorcycle, a Honda CB500F, (so long as it's sunny and warm)!
To get in on the fun and adventure, visit Nikki at her website for release alerts, updates, exclusive giveaways, and a free story when you subscribe to her newsletter: http://nikkijefford.com/
Debra lives in a little house in the woods with her three sons, and a Noah's ark of four legged family members. She drives a gigantic diesel SUV, couldn't carry a tune if you duct taped it to her back, and enjoys an occasional cosmopolitan (heavy on the vodka). On a good day, she jogs and horseback rides, hopefully managing to keep the horse between herself and the ground. Her only known super power is 'Identify Roadkill'.

I bought the book because the author Nikki Jefford is one of the authors. I love all her work, so it was a one-click for me to buy this one. Again, she delivers an amazing tale set in a different world then our own. Although this is one I do not wish to visit this time. Ghosts I read about, not visit with.
I have found several new-to-me authors and their books to add to my TBR list. If you enjoy a great ghost story, I recommend Once Upon a Ghost.
"RAPUNZEL DREAMING" by Yasmine Galenorn
Rapunzel just wants to be left alone with her books, ignored by the outside world, so her adoptive mother, Bertie, grants her wish to be locked away in a tower. A long time later, James is drawn to a strange house and we find out just how long a mother’s devotion lasts. I thought this story was a very clever spin on Rapunzel’s story as a ghost story. It was darker than I expected and the plot was really unpredictable. Though I loved the story, the world-building felt limited by the short story format. I wanted to see more of Rapunzel’s life, more of Bertie’s devotion to her daughter, and more of James’ experience with his new house.
I was given an Advance Reader Copy as a gift from author without obligation. I am providing an honest review.
