The reality with this book (or others like it), you TRULY have to be open and willing to consider the advice provided. For me, it was quite impactful, helpful - bringing forth issues (and changes) that I needed to acknowledge and make. Although it remains to be seen if/how it may positively impact my wife and lead to reconciliation.
That said, I would highly recommend it for anyone willing to not only take a serious look at themselves, but willing to make the changes brought forth by reading same.
One more thing...as other's have pointed out, it is written from a "Christian" perspective/viewpoint. However, you may be doing yourself (and your marriage) a disservice if you dismiss what may prove to be a valuable tool, based on that alone.
Best wishes to you in your journey...
