I really liked this book. I felt a real connection between the H and h and they made a great couple. Just enough intrigue and mystery without it being over the top.

The one thing that really bothers me about HH books is when H calls h a child. In this story he said “child you don’t know what you do to me” as he’s about to kiss her. I’m all for a petite character but referring to them as children bothers me. She’s done this in other books too.

This book kept my interest And after reading the previous reviews on it before I bought IT two said that they laughed out loud and throughout the book.I didn't get that and I'm a fairly humorous person so that was one of the reasons that I bought it I found it enjoyable I didn't want to put it down and I found myself reading it throughout the night.I will say that from a author I knew it was a different story that I wasn't used to so I thoroughly enjoyed that.She went away from Scotland and move down to England in the story at first I had to kind of readjust my thinking on this but It kept my interest to the end it really Is a book I would recommend. happy reading!

I read this book in less than a day. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.

I just couldn't believe how good it was. Heck I was laughing out loud at parts and now a day later I'm trying not to pick it up and reread it.

The heroine was so smart and level headed. She was a strong fighter but out of necessity not out of the desire to prove herself. She is not pouty or petty she has a strong womanly courage that people admire.

I loved the family dynamic in this book. How fiercely they loved and protected and how proud they were of each other. It enhanced the story line immensely.

My only slight complaint was that the ending was somewhat reminiscent of the ending in Hannah Howell's "Beauty and the Beast." However, I fault her little for this because it was not overly paralleled and still allowed for a very happy ending. I wish she would write a book about Saxan's sister and the Scott!!! (If she has already and I just haven't found it please somebody tell me!! lol )

Just such a good book with such passion and I love the verbal sparring in the book.

I'm at a loss. lol I really am speechless it was so good. haha

Only For You was and Excellent book from the very first page to the last. There were so many parts of this book that kept me laughing. Those were the times when I had to put this book down in order to get my laughter under control. There were other times where I held my breath until the danger was over. All of the books I've read from Hannah Howell I have never been disappointed. The characters is this book were Awesome!!! Saxan and Pitney being twine brother and sister really brought out the true meaning of a twine's relationship with love, honor, loyalty and mischief. Botolf was perfect for Saxan and her for him, there relationship showed him that a true lady can be all things from funny, sarcastic, clever, loyal and can be just as fierce as a man. Saxan was a woman like no other that Botolf has ever met and he had no intention to let her go. If you decide to read this book you will make an Excellent choice. It has everything you want in a book and more... Although I was left to wonder if anything would happen with Saxan sister Thylda and the Scot Bretton Graeme.

I have actually read this book before and found even more to love about it the 2nd time around. Definitely recommend it to all those who love historical romance.

Saxan Todd wakes one night after a frightening dream, it was of a man with dark hair and eyes, with a scar over one eye standing over her dead twin brother Pitney with blood on his hands. Not long after comes word of Pitneys death and the name of the man who killed him. Yet the message is in error, Pitney lives and the man she believes killed him is in fact actually the man whose life Pitney saved, by fighting off an assassin. Botolf has been defending himself from assassination attempt for too long, he knows who it is trying to kill him, his half brother Colin, but cannot find either Coolin or proof to use against him. Then Saxan catches up to him and very nearly succeeds on stabbing him, Botolf is left perplexed, Saxan is like no other Lady he has met, he knows he is running out of time before he must take a wife, he needs an heir after all. Botolf begins to look at Saxan with a view to marriage, but is it fair of him to offer marriage when it also comes with the danger of being widowed or maybe even murdered herself by Colin, if he succeeds in his plans to see Botolf dead. Saxan is a great character, along with her very large, unusual extended family. I hope to see more books written about the Todds.

I didn't feel this was up to Hannah Howell's normal standard. It felt rushed and the storyline was also very familiar. Beautiful, young, feisty and petite heroine Saxan gets her earl to love her - who she had previously tried to murder, but that's okay because it was revenge, albeit mistaken - while hugely pregnant and battling (literally) his evil half-brother and a venal lady of the court! And all while overcoming her husband's aversion to love because of his immoral ex-wife. We're also told right at the beginning that Saxan's killed men in battle - but when, how and where? She's only 18 and obviously sheltered by her elder brothers. It all took credibility a bit too far for me. That being said, Hannah appears to be experimenting with a new family saga - this time the Todds - a medieval English Marcher family on the Scottish Borders, and if she writes more stories about the family I'll read them. A writer as prolific as Hannah will inevitably produce the occasional not-so-good novel and it wasn't dreadful, just rather disappointing, particularly as it appears to be the first in a new series.
