So much fun to see so much female revenge for all the right reasons. and it's a great team effort: : Leslie Mann is a full blown physical comedienne like Lucille Ball, and her chemistry with Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton is full on no holds barred engaged and wacky. Lucille Ball, see what you think. They hold their own in their own ways. Girls night in. Do your nails and watch this. I own it. Happy times when the trio buckles down to get back what they have lost (pride and money).
I not only had no desire to see this movie, I thought I would absolutely hate it, yet ended up laughing my head off and really enjoying it. Leslie Mann is simply divine. It is unfortunate that most actors need to be in dramatic roles to have their talents recognized and appreciated, while comedy is where the real challenge lies. Having all of the emotion of a dramatic role, while not losing the humor requires exceptional skill. Mann brings all the sincerity and devastation of a woman who has not only had her heart broken, but is seeing her world crumble before her and combines it with a quirkiness and endearing hysterics (who knew hysterics could ever be endearing?) that are truly hilarious. While Cameron Diaz has top billing and does do a great job as the straight woman reluctantly drawn into antics and friendships with her cohorts, Leslie Mann's role carries the film and she makes it more than just another goofy piece of fluff to pass an hour and a half. No reason we can't have some substance with our entertainment! And on that subject, I also really appreciated that though there are tertiary romantic interests and some happily ever after feel to it at the end, finding their new Mr. Right(s) is not the storyline or purpose of the movie. It's actually about the women and their relationships to each other, in the vein of the ever increasingly popular bromance movies. Yes, woman can be friends and supportive of each other and no, not all stories about women have to be centered around finding a man, which magically solves all their sorrows and woes. So nice to have a slight departure from that tired old schtick. While the final confrontation with the cheating, scumbag husband lost me a bit in the end as a tad over the top in an inconsistent way from the rest of the film, I otherwise enjoyed every moment and would absolutely recommend watching.

Absolutely hysterical movie! It's a chick flick, but tell your Guy that Kate Upton and Candace Diaz spend a lot of time running around in bikinis and he will gladly watch it with you. As my daddy used to say "The goodies always win and the baddies always lose." Don Johnson is GREAT in this role. Multiple love stories within one funny funny movie.
I wanted to like this, and a few parts were funny, but overall it was kind of a downer. I was hoping for something more fun. But I guess a ruined marriage isn't really fun, is it? I'd rather watch a rom-com where there is unexpected love and chance meetings. Anyway, it was hard to come away from this feeling uplifted, which is what I want with a rom-com. This was more like an anti-rom-com, girl power kind of flick, I guess. I wouldn't watch it again.
I teach people how to write for a living; thus, I understand the need to express one's self in ways not considered crude: swear words. Although, I, too, curse, I like to think of it as a timing issue, and depending on the person and her sensitivities, I refrain. I'm not living in a substandard comedy, where the only words I have access to, are curse words. Nonetheless, censoring is an issue with me, and I find it hard to enjoy an edited movie or song. I want to listen or watch something as the artist intended. If I don't, I don't watch/listen/read. It's that simple. Do I think censorship has nuances to it? Sure. Hate speech or false information come to mind. But, come on, this is a female buddy comedy. We don't get many of those, anyway. Thus, do us all a favor, and give us the real deal. Don't make Cameron Díaz say "flippin'", when her lips are clearly indicating something else.
I found the movie beyond entertaining! I like movies for their escape from reality. The Other Woman is the ultimate escape!
Synopsis: The plot consists of a wife, Kate (Leslie Mann), finding out her husband, Mark King (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), has been cheating on her with girlfriend, Carly Whitten (Cameron Diaz). At first she is confused and sad, but soon anger kicks in and with it, revenge. Revenge for not only her, but the other two women, Carly and another woman (Kate Upton) who have been fooled by Mark.
Review: What I liked: Women kicking ass and taking names Love story Great lines and tons of laughs Beautiful ending
What I didn't like: A little cheesy Obvious plot
However, I didn't mind the cheesy and the plot was meant to be obvious. This is not a mystery movie it's a nice, funny, escape from reality.
I watched this movie with my 2 daughter's 13 & 15 and one of their friends, also 13. We were laughing and cracking up throughout the movie. It is a funny movie and I liked that it was rated PG13 and not R so it was actually a movie that we could all watch together. I've always liked Cameron Diaz and loved Leslie Mann in "THIS IS 40". This is a movie I would watch again and if I had the chance to see it at the movies I would not have been disappointed. I would recommend this if you want a good laugh.
So many funny movies these days (Neighbors, That Awkward Moment, We're The Millers, 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, etc.) have been rated R, and while I thought they were good movies and really funny, they weren't ones that I would take my kids to see. So I was happy to see this was PG13 and ok for my kids to see.

I can,t help but feel these 3 actresses had a good time making this film, they had an obvious enthusiasm for the job that they where doing in getting revenge on a multi cheating husband and proving to him they where not as stupid as to be taken in by his lies and subterfuge. A laugh from start to finish, and "good scenery " as well . So that,s what the Miami Vice man Don Johnson looks like today, I will definitely give this film more time in the future for another watch.

This film is about a woman finding out her husband is cheating on her, then befriending the mistress. They then become friends and spy on him when they suspect another affair and then the mayhem begins!
I thoroughly enjoyed this film, more than I expected. As it was made well, with a great cast the comedy and the serious parts were executed well it was amazing. If it wasn't such a strongly made film it could have been a disaster but credit to everyone involved who made it a must in my dvd collection.
3.0 out of 5 starsLeslie Mann is brilliant...thats all.

Well this is another chick flick movie which I am awarding 3 Stars to Leslie Mann. I have seen Diaz in similar roles and this was nothing special. Kate Upton was there...just! It is the story of three woman who find they have the same love interest and want revenge. A bit far fetched considering the quality of the male in the plot.
Quite honestly, the only reason I would watch this film again is to watch Leslie Mann whose performance is zany and inspiring and she carries the film, plot, cast and all
3.0 out of 5 starsSister's are doing it for themselves!

All about female revenge, and what fun it is! Capable performances by all concerned genuinely funny in places although Leslie Mann's performance is a little to neurotic at times! Well worth what I paid for it!
If you love the 'First Wives Club', with Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton you will definitely love 'The Other woman'.
A fabulous film with a great story line that'll have you in stitches - both men and women alike. It's a case of 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'. I won't give too much away but I guarantee that you will not be sorry for this purchase.
