A cute Alein / Sci-Fi movie

Nothing drastic. No laser blasting. No trans-morphing. And certainly no aliens eating the brains out of anyone.
The IMdb and Amazon description tell most of it, although the "romance" is barely that and only for a few minutes. A bored housewife is visited by an alien light, that sets her on a path to "save the world." Along the way she meets an interesting man from The Ivory Coast. Together they team up, with a very eclectic local "UFO Club" to swap an ancient Egyptian scroll. One that has a "bad equation" with one that has a "good equation."
Suitable for kids, with parents nearby. Medical drugs/prescriptions. Talk of "marital relations"... but no nudity or sex. I don't recall any cursing. This should be OK for family movie night.

Great little Sci-Fi/Drama Flick

I stumbled onto this little gem as I was looking for a simple, watchable sci-fi, and this movie really delivered. I liked what the previous reviewer said, that the acting and characters made it look like it was plucked from real life, and I totally agree - A very charming, well acted, well directed, and well filmed story. It is a comedy, drama, and sci-fi all rolled into one. For a sci-fi, it's a little short on the special effects, but it will keep you in the edge of the seat nonetheless. I highly recommend it.

GREAT FLICK!

I loved the feel of this film. Unlike high dollar renditions of the same type of story, these people made a movie that felt like something plucked from real life. Camera work was excellent (except maybe too tight on head shots) with no jigger and great compositions. The acting was top notch all around, again making it feel like something happening next door. Humor wasn't overboard and really fit the feel along with a great soundtrack.

All in all a very enjoyable scifi comedy.

Just not very good

A well-meaning production, with lots of earnest and careful work. Unfortunately good intentions do not make a good movie. I read the positive reviews here and expected a quirky, fun film. I got a silly, non-sensical, non sequitur filled movie with the acting levels of a good high school play. Got my money's worth. But not much else.
