I have read Out of My Mind five times and shared it with my class on several of those occasions. We were all overjoyed to hear a new Melody book was coming out and I preordered several! I was so disappointed after reading this though. There is really no real plot to this book and little character development. It’s nothing like the first book at all. It made them think about what it would be like to have cerebral palsy. While “Out of My Mind” had many disappointing parts this second novel is more upbeat. We loved both.
