Great Cuff

This is a follow up review of the manual blood pressure cuff, I have been a registered nurse for 27 years and in that time I have used many blood pressure cuffs as you can imagine. So far I really love the Paramed cuff, it is very easy to use, light weight, comes with its own carry pouch and a tiny key that allows you to adjust the dial to 0 for an accurate reading. I am truly happy with this purchase and highly recommend the Paramed cuff. If you are looking for a home blood pressure cuff this one cant be beat for price and reliability.

Innacurate readings, calibration is a joke

Innacurate readings, calibration is a joke. I’m a medical student with a pregnant wife who has had preeclampsia in the past, so I bought this to monitor her blood pressure. I took her blood pressure every day, and it was high, so I ended up taking her to the doctors. After an extensive work up, I compared this blood pressure cuff to the ones at the hospital, and this one was 15 mmhg too high. I tried their calibration tool, but it even says on the instructions included with the tool that it can only calibrate for differences up to 6 mmhg, less than half the difference I have. I ended up returning it and buying a Welch allyn one instead.

Seems to be a good quality product, especially the gauge, which is very heavy, has a stamped individual serial number suggesting that it has been tested, and includes a calibration key to zero it with should it drift over time. Pump and valve works as it should. Rubber parts appear to be durable and without odd chemical smells as some cheaper rubber from China has. Cuff is a little stiff, but you don't wear it very long so it doesn't really matter. If you are thinking about buying this, I would suggest looking for the same product but in a kit including a stethoscope, which doesn't cost much more and which you will need.

You will need to know how to read and interpret the pressures, and no details on that are included, but that is accessible on line from others.

Mine was working at first but it’s funny how as soon as I’m out of the return window the cuff is now holding air and will not deflate completely. Something is wrong with the mechanism I’m guessing. I’ve had it about a month so that’s pretty crappy to spend over $20 for something that hardly lasts. I used it maybe 5-6 times total. Be careful and don’t waste your money.

Update: wow let me just tell you their customer service is amazing. I must’ve gotten a. Defective one because this new one works great and has been consistent. Very appreciate for their customer service and enjoy this product

I purchased the Professional Manual Blood Pressure Cuff – Aneroid Sphygmomanometer with Durable Carrying Case by Paramed because of the long cuff length and the versatility of its’ use on large or small arm diameters. It works well on my 12 year old daughter as well as my husband and myself. I am very pleased with its’ versatility. I also like the nylon fabric which makes it lightweight. The carrying case is compact and yet adequate space to fit the unit easily. The blood pressure reading was comparable to my digital blood pressure cuff. I am thrilled with my purchase and look forward to using it for many years to come! The price is fantastic! Thank you for a high quality product. I rate this product a 5 star.

I received my Paramed manual blood pressure cuff today in the mail after purchasing it for my community health rotation in nursing school. I was thoroughly impressed with how quickly it shipped, as well as the packaging. Not only was the package and box intact, I was impressed with the sleeve that blood pressure cuff came in. It didn’t seem cheap or flimsy at all. I was also impressed to find an insert offering a free stethoscope with a review. Many other companies do not offer this option, which was another plus. When I took the cuff out of the case, all parts were intact and seemed durable. I was able to immediately use the cuff, and it gave me an accurate reading. I’ve purchased blood pressure cuffs previously where I’ve had to spend almost 30 minutes calibrating it to only get an inaccurate reading. With this cuff, I didn’t even need to calibrate it and it was already giving me accurate readings. Whenever I’m in the market for another blood pressure cuff, I will only be buying a Paramed cuff. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 5, I’d give the cuff a 5. I’m thoroughly impressed with the product and company.

So I broke down and bought this very reliable unit.
