The first picture of the VCR - a Panasonic PV9450 was purchased over 20-years ago. Never a problem with this product even when it faced the Y2k scare. The VCR taped shows (when we could still tape from the TV and it time stamped tapings). I depended on this player.
I have many VHS that are rare to find and I most certainly want to hang on to them, so to find a Panasonice PV8451 is a dream come true. The make is very similar as you can see from the picture (the new VCR is the second photo).
I received my new VCR yesterday and played a movie. My remote control from the old player works on this VCR. The video played wonderfully, no weird sounds, no problems rewinding (I still have a rewinding machine that works and this helps to not wear out the VCR player). I feel like I haven't missed a beat, my old one died almost two weeks ago and the ability to play once again has been restored. I am most happy.
