Enhance your purchase
Riding through Texas, Will and Gid Crockett approach a cabin with the hope that the occupants will be friendly. But their welcome is rifle fire. Forced to return fire, they kill their assailant, then find, in the cabin, a beautiful young woman, bound and gagged. This is Victoria Westbury. Her father is Robin Westbury, an English Lord who owns Camelot, the largest ranch in the area.
When they return Victoria safely, her grateful father hires them to help him deal with a crooked government project that cuts off his water by damming up a river, cattle rustling, and treachery.
To Westbury and the other innocent ranchers of the valley, Will and Gid are godsends. To Will and Gid, it’s just another adventure, before they ride on in their endless journey.

The rain was about to pour down on the brothers, Will and Gid, so they figured they needed to get to some shelter to at least stay a little dry. They headed for a ridge but the closer they got they saw a small cabin, made out of rock, adobe, and wood, clinging to the base of the cliff. Smoke was rising from the chimney but as they approached a shot rang out, even in the rain they heard the report as it took off Will’s hat. Yelling out that they were friendly, another shot rang out hitting Gid’s horse right in the heart, he barely had time to jump off before it hit the ground. Another shot rang out as the boy's dove for cover behind the dead horse, again they yelled they were friendly, but as they tried to raise a white handkerchief another shot rang out. Will finally jacked a round in the chamber and aimed at the window. When he saw the shooter’s barrel come out of the window, he fired. The rifle dropped to the porch and an arm fell out and hung down, not moving.
They waited in the pouring rain for a while and then figured that they might as well try to dry off. But as they looked over at the small corral they noticed two horses and figured there might be a second person inside. With no further shots, they cautiously decided to enter the house. While Gid used his shoulder to crash through the door, then fall to the floor, Will came in behind him, pistole in hand. Nothing! As Will checked out the shooter, Gid rose to check to see if there was any food but found a surprise hiding in the corner of the small kitchen area. A bound and gagged, naked woman! She was one of the most beautiful woman they had ever seen. After releasing her they found that she had been kidnapped and when she realized the boys were not part of the gang she prevailed on them to take her home. And the story begins.
Join Will and Gid as they return Lady Victoria Westbury to her father, Sir Robin Westbury, and another adventure begins bringing with it plenty of trouble for the pair…
What did I like? As everyone knows these boys are one of my favorites, and they both ride with trouble on their backs. Having survived the war, drifting south, just letting things happen as they will whenever the boys are around. They manage to find a ton of danger anywhere they end up. Their love and respect for each other is inspiring, but their ability to help others keeps me in awe. It is certainly too bad that they are fictional characters and not real life now during our current situation.
What will you like? Amazing and incredible action that is non-stop throughout the book, a touch of romance, intrigue, and mystery that will take the storyline back to the war memories, desperados, murder, cattle rustling, ruthless neighbors, and a host of other problems. The characters will surprise you with the feel of reality, and general orneriness that will have you hooting and hollering. The storyline is timeless, trouble with a capital T runs through it from front to back, but the ending will take you by surprise. Don’t miss Robert Vaughan’s next book in the Crockett Series, “Panhandle Justice” which is available NOW!!!
