It is so filled with action and bigger challenges and consequences being foreshadowed that my mind needs a few days at least in between them to process and get ready for the next battle. Fabulous! The entire series is wonderful. I am sitting here at 5AM wondering just how long I have to wait for the next book in the Paramedic series. I read all 3 series by Jamie Davis in 3-1/2 days & now have nothing left to read. I have normal run of the mill books left. Nothing has moved me as much as this series & the Eldara series. They are separate series, but if you want more, they are the seasonings on the dish, so to speak.
It is captivating from the first page. Probably the best books/series I have read in the last year. Seeiously, cannot wait to see what happens next. Will the vampire finally be finished? What about Dean & Jaz? How will the U squad handle having a Paramedic Vampire in charge? Will Freddy stay at the station safe & cooking up 4 star meals? When & where does the daughter pop in again? How will mom & dad handle that?
So many possibilities, so many questions.
The only thing I can honestly day is..."Please Jamie, write faster!!"

Overall I have enjoyed Ms. Davis' paranormal series featuring the Unusual paramedics and community of Elk City. This installment, while advancing the story narrative, seemed a little rushed and not as well written as previous books in the series. Both Artur and his new protégé Felicity seemed very one dimesional villains. Brynne's challenges did not have the emotional impact a reader might have expected and Flynn's discoveries were not as well developed. Hopefully the next installment will be more in line with earlier installmemts.

This book, like the others was a good read that went at a fast pace. Since it's the sixth book, and people were probably complaining, there's not as much medical jargon. Not that I don't like it, but you can only read about an IV being started in detail so many times. There's a lot of action and we see more character development. My only dislike is that Dean seems to be a bit of an airhead. He's always missing obvious clues or dismissing important info. Every time we get an important seeming bit of info I think, Dean is going to run with it, but he usually just shrugs and we don't hear about it until someone else brings it up. All in all, I can't wait for the next book.

What is happening in Elk City? The dead are turning into zombies and have no control. The same thing is happening to newly turned vampires. Dean, Jaz and James find out that Artur is back! What is he trying to do? That is the question they must find out the answer to.
We are also introduced to some more Unusuals...mummies and banished to name a few. All told the Paramedics at Station U are in for some serious workouts. Jamie Davis gives us more clues to Dean's true identity and I can't wait until the next book is out.

Yes, the Extreme Paramedics from the Extreme Medical Services are feverishly trying to save the world, or at least Elk City, from an epidemic of zombies. Of course, we also meet new "Unusuals". (The Mummy was my favorite.) Dean, Jaz, James, Brynne, Celeste, Freddy, Rudy, and the rest of the Elk City crew are great entertainment.

Oh, yeah, why not 4 stars? The manuscript would have benefited from one more typo-sweep by a human editor before release.

I fair but shouted for joy with this one. Frustrated at the return of one character, overjoyed at the development of the relationship between Dean and Jaz but most of all great to see Byrne back around and taking a far bigger part in the story. The dynamics have changed so much but at the same time the bigger picture is coming into play. It was sad to see that even in fear the old prejudices and reactive measures come out in force. I am so happy to see Dean building on the basis he got from the last book. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Stop with the big teasers already!

Well, the book is certainly up to Jamie's normal standard, the writing is crisp and doesn't wander off into unnecessary byways. Characterisation is a little light, but this IS an ongoing series and we get to learn a couple of things about Mr. Flynn.

The only problem is, it's too short. :) I'm a fairly coracious reader and this took me a little over 2 hours reading time.
Basically Dean and Jaz's ongoing relationship is continually interupted by the ongoing Unusual occurences. And that's all I'm going to say on the story. Read it yourself.
