Titles By Patrice Fitzgerald
Its companion series – Alt.Chronicles, The Illustrated Chronicles and Chronicle Worlds – are similarly ground-breaking in their coverage of less mainstream tropes such as alternative history and shared universes.
Created by award-winning author Samuel Peralta, and edited by some of the most-respected editors in the genre, each volume brings together work from visionary new voices and from the grandmasters of modern science fiction and fantasy.
This Future Chronicles Special Edition volume is a compendium of stories selected from the Chronicles’ standalone titles, and includes five new stories, never before published, from some of today’s best writers in speculative fiction.
Will these "post-human" intelligences be our friends? Our servants? Our rivals? What will we learn from them? What will they learn from us? Will we allow them to lead their own lives? Will they have basic human rights? Will we?
Science and society will be forced to address these questions sooner than you think. But science fiction is addressing these questions today. In The Robot Chronicles, thirteen of today's top sci-fi writers explore the approaching collision of humanity and technology.
To be fair, they only started shooting after she started insulting them. She was just about to hand off the package—Wu didn’t know what was inside, and she didn’t want to—when three tentacle-faced strangers attacked. Wu loves a good fight and lives for a good heist. The Captain and her crew make their living taking undercover assignments from questionable clients... and it pays. Or at least, it used to.
But this time the merchandise is a little too hot to handle. So when the squid-shaped xenos show up and destroy the guys who are there to receive it, Wu is barely able to make it back to her ship alive. Soon the Nameless is racing around the galaxy with not only the powerful Commonwealth on its tail, but another dangerous creature bent on revenge. And then an unexpected visitor arrives, putting Wu and her crew in the position of taking care of some very precious cargo. Is it time for the Captain to give up criming and retire to a sedate life more suitable for a woman of her age?
Not a chance.
Captain Wu is the first volume in the Starship Nameless trilogy, to be followed by:
Smugglers Crew: Starship Nameless #2
New Path: Starship Nameless #3
“Will read everything in this series I can get my hands on.”
“These stories are full of great, complex characters (not all of them human), twists and turns, and fantastic world-building.”
Epic space battles. Exotic aliens. Far-flung planets.
Fifteen fabulous tales that will thrill and surprise you, some chosen from previous BEYOND THE STARS volumes, and some brand new.
Come along as these award-winning authors sweep you along on adventures as broad as the universe and as deep as their imagination.
Welcome to the Best of Beyond the Stars!

In the latest addition to the Future Chronicles series of sci-fi anthologies, the answer to all of these questions is a resounding yes. From first contact to last stand, these original short stories range from quiet tales of personal connection to adrenaline-infused inter-species space conflicts. Each tale promises to present you with a different look at what intelligent alien life might be like -- and how we Earthlings might respond to it.
The Alien Chronicles features stories by bestselling authors Hugh Howey (WOOL), B. V. Larson (the Starforce series), and Jennifer Foehner Wells (Fluency), plus twelve more of today's top authors in science fiction.
These are the untold stories from the ‘Legacy Fleet’ universe—a universe of conflict , of alien invasion, and of human resistance and courage in the face of overwhelming odds.
From Samuel Peralta, creator of the acclaimed Future Chronicles anthology series, and based on the Legacy Fleet universe from USA Today bestselling author Nick Webb – 'Chronicle Worlds: Legacy Fleet' is a ground-breaking anthology that brings together work from some of today's most exciting science fiction authors.
Spanning a time between the First Swarm War – and humanity’s first devastating encounter with the alien race – and the events of ‘Constitution’, ‘Warrior’, and ‘Victory’, these fourteen stories chart the human drama behind an epic 75-year vista of Earth’s expansion in space, and the dawn of the Second Swarm War.
If you loved the movie, if you loved ‘Legacy Fleet’, you’ll love the television series. Because here it is, the entire season, this amazing collection of episodes, of short stories— ‘Chronicle Worlds: Legacy Fleet’.

Captain Wu finds herself once again on the losing end of a deal. Everything has been going south since she ran afoul of three squid-faced xenos who stepped into the middle of a delivery and shot the buyers--of a book! Why is anyone so interested in an ancient book? Now she's the target of a bunch of bad guys, all while trying to avoid the long intergalactic arm of the Com.
As the Captain and her crew race through one star gate after another, she gets herself out of scrapes with her wits and her fists... though not necessarily in that order. But her old nemisis--and former partner--Roderick Tell is up to his neck in nefarious doings. And he keeps reeling her back in.
How is Wu going to keep her family safe and her crew fed? With smarts and grit, the smugglers keep surviving, one wild shenanigan at a time.
