Danielle Merry, a troubled youth, finds herself being shipped off to a private school to help get her life back on track. Little did she know, she would meet five strangers and form a bond that would change their lives forever. Learning that each one of them shared a gift of the sacred arts, Danielle (Dani) throws herself full force into learning the craft. Sex, magic, and rock n roll play the background for book one of the Eternal Sisterhood Trilogy from Crimson Pinnacle Press.

Solid Four Stars
The Good
This book is very "readable". There are fewer mistakes and errors than I've found in either of their past work and it HELPS so much to have a book reviewed, edited and reviewed. The easier it is for the reader to read, the easier it is to believe the story and get lost in the narrative. Myers and Roles did a great job with that in POD, as such, I finished this in one day, not because I "had to" but because it was good and I wanted to ride it to the finish.
The characters' relationship come off fairly genuine and believable. We all have been part of or know a group of friends like these. Their personalities are consistant.
I normally detest coven stories, werewolves and boogey man type stories, but this had more plot and less witchy magic to keep me interested and moving along.
There was a PLOT! Many Indie horror authors seem to forget that they need to have a plot to support the slash and mud and gore. There is a very distinct plot and is entertaining to boot!
The Bad.
I mention this ALL THE TIME when reviewing Indie Authors... The nods to other authors are someone cute, but can detract from the overall story not to mention induce an eye roll here and there.
I could have done without "that scene". It was gratuitous and lent absolutely zero to the book and was rather, um, unrealistic. I feel like it was just tossed in to make it a little raunchier, but just didn't seem to fit the narrative at all for me.
The Ugly
I detest this cover. :-) I feel like this book would be represented better by a cover that is more indicavtive of the story inside the cover. I was bracing for a naughty nurse story, but was pleasantly surprised to find an overall solid Coven-Sister-Voodoo-Murder story. Soooo, in this case, I would advise NOT to judge this book by it's cover! :-)
It takes a lot for me to really get into a story and I actually could feel the anticipation as the ladies headed into Old Salem. I can tell you that I did not expect the ending! I CANNOT wait to see what book two has to offer!
Yes, it's rare for me to rate this kind of story 5 stars, but that's cuz I enjoyed listening to it that much
