Some pebbles are lodged only in your business shoes. Some reside in your house slippers that you tuck under your bed. Some pebbles find their way into your golf shoes while others form in the shoes worn while you parent. Unfortunately, some pebbles travel in all your shoes regardless of where you walk or run. In The Pebble in the Shoe, the "world's number-one coach of champions" gives you five simple, champion-tested tools for removing the smallest to the largest pebble in your shoe. After hearing this audio, you'll be able to approach any condition, circumstance or situation with confidence.

Jim Fannin, the author is a world renown speaker/coach/mentor/trainer. He uses a simple story about a pebble in the shoe to illustrate how things that are hardly noticed can become major stumbling blocks. These small pebbles in our collective shoes is what slows us down, gets in our way and stops us from being the best we can be. For some the pebble gets in our shoes in one area of our lives. For others, the pebble seems to transfer from shoe to shoe.
Mr. Fannin is a highly successful coach and uses many of the same principles that have been so successful with his clients in this book. These concepts have been proven in the real world. This is not just theory and feel good information. These concepts and techniques have resulted in amazing success for Mr. Fannin's clients. They will do the same for you.
The story is short and simple, but very profound. You will immediately grasp how this applies to your life. Understanding the problem is the first step toward solving it. Mr. Fannin clearly demonstrates the different ways we can get pebbles in our shoes.
But knowing you have a pebble in your shoe - becoming aware - is just the first step. You need to know what to do about the pebbles - how to get them out and then how to prevent future pebbles from getting in your shoes.
There are five simple steps to solving the pebble in your shoe problem. These simple steps are told in the form of stories. Be like the Palm Tree - sway with the hurricane but don't break. Learn to be like a Light Switch - know how to turn off the negative and turn on the positive. Learn to Reboot - when you are feeling overwhelmed it is time to pause and Reboot. Find a Mentor. Mr. Fannin tells about his Mentor who had such a profound influence on his life and actually put him to the path to success he had enjoyed for the past 40 plus years. And finally, learn the most powerful four-letter word that you should use to guide your life.
The lessons in this book are simple but extremely powerful. The book is rather short and a quick read. But because Mr. Fannin uses stories to teach the lessons, you will grasp the concepts and remember them. This book can be a real game changer for anyone who applies the concepts to their life.
In addition to the powerful lessons, this is an extremely beautiful book. I normally read with a pen in hand and underline significant passages. I rarely read a book that I don't mark up. But his book is so beautiful I simply could not bring myself to underline or write in the margins.
This book would make a wonderful gift for a college graduate, someone getting a promotion or someone needing a pick-me up. I strongly suggest you get a copy for yourself and a few copies to give away. The book is a wonderful client appreciation gift.

Author Jim Fannin is a coach whose goal is to inspire people to deal with the things that are interfering with happiness and success. He has the sobriquet of World's #1 Coach of Champions, and after reading this easy to assimilate book that title is understandable. He makes learning about those impediments (or pebbles) that prevent our positive focus on the future - such as overcoming fear, looking at everything that happens to us as a chance to make a positive change
Fannin's ideas and the way they are expressed are so immediately accessible that after finishing reading this brief book we are already on our way. We learn to identify our pebbles, investigate them, and alter them until they no longer are the hindrance we have imagined to be. His advice pertains to business success, parental success, and relationship success. Though at first reading the book may sound simplistic, by book's end the points are clear and the reader is already feeling the lack of those irritating pebbles and has learned how to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and holler `Next!'- the most important four letter word to retain that builds both courage and confidence.
Fannin is magnetic, energetic in his 'coaching approach', and absolutely irresistible as a writer and teacher. Of course there is more to the book than this brief synopsis, but in order to make the needed changes towards success and happiness, the book must be digested by readers individually. It is a fine investment. Grady Harp, May 13
