An unusual, but very useful, addition to War1812, Como. Perry, and Lake Erie. This very readable treatise fills gaps in time (relevant events after 1813), geography (extensions from the Battle of Lake Erie), and analysis (the minds of key players). Of the last gap, because of the author's background, this is arguably the best treatment. Skates close to goring some sacred cows, but with solid research and justifiable rationale. The convoluted aftermath of the Battle partially explains why there are as many 'Perry' placenames in the US as there are 'Washington' placenames.
I selected the Perry book beiecause it discussed the aftermath of the battle, the individuals involved, and the locations and sites of the Battle of Lake Erie. The discussion of the final ending place of some of the ships involved was interesting. The book also included the Canadian/British aftermath of the Battle Of Lake Erie. The book arrived on time and in excellent condition. Charles
