I was so happy to see that they made Piccadilly Jim into a movie until I tried to watch it, I'm sorry but this is not Wodehouse! What a SHAME! Please if you are a Wodehouse fan do yourself a favor and skip this movie! Super disappointing!!!

Some liberties were taken with both the storyline, but aren't, for the most part, all that serious. The absence of the Jerry Miller character was unfortunate since this eliminated some of the funniest parts of the story, and a bit of tragedic seasoning, as well.
The appearance of some of the characters might have been improved by a different casting, since several of them didn't quite match the appearance described in the book, which was a little jarring.
Overall, I enjoyed it a good deal, and will certainly view it more than once.

First off this was based on the funniest book I had read in ages so I was looking forward to hopefully a somewhat funny movie because quite frankly the movie is 99.9% never as good as the book. Well, this is maybe 5% as good as the book. Why? With the actors who can actually actor and screen writers who can actually write could they NOT have made a somewhat appealing movie? The only ONLY reason I gave this a 2 star review was the spectacular sets and costumes. At least that was enjoyable.

All the actors in this movie did a great job. Hugh Bonneville, Sam Rockwell always enjoy watching them when there doing a character part. he rest of them seeing them in this type of role was fun. Moved right along kept my interest. Don't compare this movie with what it is supposed to be just enjoy for face value, you'll enjoy it more. Glad I didn't read the reviews..

Literally, these comments are the worst. I LOVE this movie and will defend it unto my death.

I'm a theatre professional so I loved the "theatrics" of it all. I have never read the book so maybe that's why I loved it. Cast is impeccable. Acting is spot on. Costumes and Set were "mwah" lovely. I have watched this a dozen times and will continue to watch and share with friends!

If you like The Importance of Being Ernest, you'll love this.

Was not expecting much since the review score was low. But the cast was so outstanding I had to give it a try. This was such a fun silly funny movie. Glad I gave it a shot.

Great movie. Need the universal format though. As good as the original.
