If using these for the Rocketbook try to vary your notes color. For stuff that is "formal" that I will share with the team I stick with Black for notes, Red for commands, Blue for explaining commands. If the notes are for me I will use the purple and pink keeping the red/blue for their same purposes.
Using this you get a bit more even wear out of the pens.
- Pen retracts by clicking the pen's pocket holder clip. No need to uncap the 'eraser' end to erase ink.
- Colors are vibrant, except for the black (more like a dark grey).
- Ink consistency is like regular gel pens. Not very much pressure is required to write solid lines.
- Intentional erasing will almost completely erase markings. See attached photos.
- Hasn't happened to me, but I heard that leaving the pens/written materials in a hot car will make the ink disappear. But I also heard that putting the previously heated pen/ink in the freezer for a while will make the ink reappear. I've been mindful of this, and been careful not to leave my pen set in my car.

The colors are pretty but they don’t all show up well when scanned. See photos for a photo of the page in my Rocketbook and the scan. I also added writing with the 0.5 black frixion pen that came with the Rocketbook for reference
The colours are vibrant and the ink flows sooo nice. Erasing is a breeze. Profs and students always ask me about them.
The *only* downside is, like many up ballpoints some colours go thin or dry out quickly, but, ballpoints.
They've become my favourite pens. (get the clicker ones, not the ones with removable caps)
La calificación es de 4/5 debido a que las puntas no son tan finas son un poco gruesas de lo normal pero al final es un producto que vale la pena considerar.
I do find that the ink can 'goop' a bit with these pens, but nothing terrible. And, after all, they are erasable. This particular tip is a fine point (0.7 mm) which I find easy to read. I've just ordered the super-fine tip (0.5 mm) set, so hopeful those will allow me a little more precision.
I like how this is a multi-colour set, but I do wish there were more of the standard colours (more red, which is the most common copy-editing colour to use). In any event, these would be great pens to also give kids, as you can erase their work if needed - although I haven't tried other surfaces than paper lol.
In sum, these are great, unique gel ink pens, and definitely worth the money!
In order to use this book I have to use this specific pen type and the manufactuer of this pen knows it, so I'm okay with a 50% upsell over the standard ink pens, but not 1000% and THAT is the rub!
Now...about the pen, they are good, but not stellar.
The color selection is on par with other brands that use standar ink, so I'm not able to give these any more than 3 stars for "value".
If you need these for the same reason I do, I've looked at other brands and am going to try another brand as a test that is 1/3 the price, I'lll strive to find a brand that works in time.
If you need thses pens, stay strong and use them as along as you wish!
The erasing power is much better than I anticipated. It erases much cleaner than I expected, much better than pencil. The only downside is erasing things that have printed off with conventional printer ink, may smudge the printer ink.
Currently Walmart has these for $55.84. Almost 2.5 times the cost. Amazon has these cheaper than every supply store I've checked.
They erase cleaner than pencil, even for mistakes on top of mistakes. Plus they write cleanly and feel great to hold. I started using these for school, and I can't even imagine going back to using regular pens or pencils. Not only that, I've tried other erasable pens and there is no comparison.
There are trade off's though;
-First is that they run out of ink quickly. You don't get nearly the life out of them as you would for a regular pen.
-Second is they are expensive, and getting more expensive every day. When I started using them they averaged $1.50 to $2.00... now they average $3 or more. Even in bulk sizing they cost this much, I don't know why they can't get the price back down.
-Thirdly is the ink will come back if you get it cold... and disappear if you get it hot. In day to day life this isn't an issue, but if you leave your work in the sun in the back window of your car it may fade, or somebody wants to see what you erased they can throw it in the fridge. Again, day to day... not an issue, but if your work will be exposed to large temps you need to be aware of this.
-Fourthly, the refills are crap. I don't know why, but they never work as well as the ones that come with the pen. Plus the price of a refill is nearly the same as a pen... so I don't get why is up with that.
I love these pens, but I burn through about 1 a week with school... so they cost a small mint. That is why I've given it 4 stars.
Erasing normally over the same place again and again causes bits of the paper to roll up into rolls like eraser particles and the ink may not be fully gone. For clarification these particles are off the paper, not the solid eraser on the tip of the pen. Even in cases where the color is gone, there is still a shiny line of the words that were written. This is however only able to be seen at a certain angle.
Taking a hair dryer to the ink is quite effective if you want to erase large patches at once. It doesn't cause the paper to roll up from over erasing the same spot (which can sometimes happen with poor quality erasers too) . However, this method still leaves the shiny lines which isn't really a big deal except that too many lines result in you not being able to write over the area without having to dig in a bit.
The main caveat of using a pen over a pencil make their appearance in being how the pen digs into the paper. This isn't really a problem with the product, just the behavior of pens in general. The good thing about these pens is you don't have to press hard to get the ink flowing which is very nice. Pilot pens in general perform very well in this regard especially the G2 series and this one doesn't disappoint. You can avoid digging into the paper if you want to.
The grip and comfort of the pen isn't something that is usually talked about but I feel it deserves a mention here. Not because the lack of it's quality but more of other pens should probably take notes. The part where your fingers grip the pen doesn't slip and move around which is should be standard but far to many other pens grip come loose. So points there.
The grip itself is hard and some may prefer a softer feel that you can press into so just take not of that. The body of the pen is solid smooth plastic though you certainly can break it if you want to. There aren't any hard edges that may dig into your skin if you grip the pen hard. The only thing to take note off is the "clicker" is part of the part where you clip the pen to things. It will move around slightly with force in comparison to no movement on a fixed position clip but it doesn't rattle and hasn't caused any problems for me.
Overall I find these pens to be a better alternative than pencils (mechanical or otherwise), you should probably give 1 or 2 a try before buying a full set only to find out they're not the product for you. A hair dryer is handy if you want to preserve your paper and/or erase large swaths at a time. Would recommend.
Cons: If you write on both sides of thin paper (think loose leaf), you will likely erase some writing on the back side of the page when you erase on the other side. If you write with firm pressure, the ink does not flow out evenly and you get light streaks and the writing experience doesn't feel very smooth. With lighter pressure, it's perfectly fine. The pen feels cheap and the clicker makes a light noise as you write which adds to the cheap feel.
I like these pens for specific purposes, but if you don't make mistakes very often and are looking for a smooth pen, I would choose something else.
