I have been searching for a great pen to take notes with. I have certain qualifications for note taking pens; it can't bleed through the paper, it has to have a smooth point that flows well, and it has to have a comfortable grip.
This pen satisfied those conditions and I am really happy I found it. I'm a college student and finding a great pen to use makes me really happy because writing notes in class with a bad one is a pain.
Furthermore, these colorful pens make note taking easy as you can switch from color to color without the hassle of using highlighters to mark things.

The Pilot G2 pens are the best! Pilot always delivers a nice product and this particular design is my favorite. I've been using these pens for years and they never disappoint. The push to extent / retract button always works and is very precise. The ink is replaceable and never stops writing until it's out. The ink tube is see-through and the ink level is clearly visible. The colors are great and the ink dries fairly fast. The pen is ergonomically designed and is comfortable to hold and write with. The ink flows flawlessly, so it's a pleasure to write with. The pocket clip is strong and never breaks off like other pens. Simply put, these are my favorite pens!

Good Pilot G2 Pens, except the Burgundy color is Brown

I really like Pilot G2 pens, and these don't disappoint. They're smooth and pleasant to write with just like any other G2s I've used. And in general, the colors were bold and bright and I was happy with most of them.

But I literally had to take a star off because the Burgundy color I bought this pack for is literally just brown. It's seriously poop brown under any lighting except when it's next to extremely blue tinted light coming directly from a computer screen or something, and even then it's still mostly brown with kind of a hint of burgundy. Under pure white light you can see a hint of burgundy, and under warm light (most of the lights in my house), it's essentially indistinguishable from brown.

That said, if you don't care about the burgundy color or you love drawing poop, you will probably be very happy with this purchase.

I generally love Pilot G2 pens. I use them everyday at work and thought this was a great deal for the pack. I opened the envelope to find this nasty and sticky stuff all over the pen pack. The package is ripped on one side and the sticker is peeled back like they’ve already been used/returned or something. Two of the pens were clicked down. This is disgusting. And the amount of time it would take to get the return started then drive all the way to where they will accept and return it for free is more time time consuming than just tossing it. If this is “new” it shouldn’t look this way.

I bought the colored gel pens to use with my planner. They help to keep me organized. The colors are beautiful, especially the blue and pink. They write smoothly and are comfortable to write with. I debated whether to get reg bic pens or the gel pens. I’m glad that I invested a little more in myself and purchased the gel pens. They don’t smear or smudge when writing. They don’t go through to the other side of the paper. I’m normally a frugal person so paying what I did was hard to swallow at first. I’m so glad that I did. They are well worth the extra expense.

I'm not returning them because I have 2 little boys who like to draw with my pens and these should work as decoy pens.
Have had them for 1 day and just ordered a pack of Zebras. I should have done that in the first place.
They're uncomfortable to hold AND the tip feels awkward when you write... like you're writing on concrete.
They don't flow freely, but they still manage to bleed through.
Colors are "meh".
I'm studying for the MCAT and for me, it helps to have solid, free flowing pens in multiple colors to organize notes, make notations in books, etc...
Not the absolute worst pens I've tried, so I give them a 3...ish.

Favorite gel pens

I have a variety of gel pens that I use, but these are by far my favorite. I gave them a 4, however, because although they are advertised as refillable, there is no refill set for the multicolors. The ones for black, blue, and red are more expensive than the pens themselves. They last longer than some of the others and never get gunky.

I like to use different colors so I can differentiate what I've written that day vs. the day before & I love these. Each one is dark & easy to see, while still being bright & pretty! They never skip, so I know if it stops writing smoothly, it's time for a new one! I'll keep buying these.

The perfect amount of smoothness on a pen. It's the only pen I use now. Most pens either roll too much, have not enough ink per stroke, or feel like they're "scratching" the page.

These ones just GLIDE (not 100% flowing though, you still have to apply pressure. It's not a Mont Blanc!). Love it.

Just got my g2 pens and they write really nicely. They don’t seem to bleed much into the back of the paper I’m using and they’re probably more pricey because of the colours I chose and supposedly last long. So far I love these though and I’m glad I got the colours package because I like to emphasize different notes for classes. I’ll update for how long these last for me.

Let me start off by saying that the pens are very vibrant and colorful, when they are working. I say this because after about 3 days of average use, the dark blue pen stopped working correctly. It will write in the left direction, but leaves no ink trail going right, making the pen effectively useless. My attempts to remedy the problem have been unsuccessful. Additionally, the light blue pen has a protrusion on its grip that rubs on the fingers uncomfortably. Considering that there are only 8 pens in the pack, it is disappointing that 2 of them have irregularities. That being said, I love writing with the other pens and it has made note taking much more interesting.
