My son needed to watch this for a college class & after purchasing it we found out there were no subtitles so we had no clue what it was saying. We only watched like 2 minutes of it so it was a waste of money.

Loved It!

No doubt most of the audience will know the composer's opera's source and feel comfortable with the tonal, Puccini-infused lyricism of the composer's score. If you love Puccini you'll really enjoy this opera put on by the San Francisco Opera company. Also, you can't go wrong with Domingo starring in an opers.

Compelling story and beautiful performances!

A very touching performance by the singers. The music is gorgeous and incredibly moving. Like other operas on dvd, we have yet to master it's documentation or recording on film. Live performance is live performance. Regardless, this is a wonderful opera that needs to be produced more often. Glad I was asked to watch it by a colleague. What a discovery!
