Bite-sized treats that taste similar to the original Pop Tarts

OK, who among us doesn't like a little Pop Tart treating from time to time. You're reading this listing, so presumably, you do!Kelloggs has now taken the Pop Tart taste and put it in a bite-sized snack.You're buying five boxes, and each of those boxes contains five baggies, and each of those baggies contains about 6 Pop Tart bites. That's 150 total bites, for those playing the home game.So how do they taste? Well, the filling tastes exactly like pop tart filling. Which is to say, sweet, blueberry inspired, but probably few blueberries were hurt or maimed in the production of this filling. And most certainly the word "tart" is not used in any respect to the filling itself. It's full-on sweet. Again, this is what you have come to love if you love Pop Tarts. The sugary frosting tastes exactly like the sugary frosting on a real Pop Tart. The cookie tastes pretty much like the "pastry" part of a real Pop Tart. But the experience of the entire contraption is a bit different than a real Pop Tart. The ratios are off, and the cookie (I mean "pastry") to filling ratio is definitely weighted higher to cookie/pastry here. For those of us who prefer the filling, that's too bad.But, still, when you eat one of these it ultimately does what any Pop Tart does: It makes the hunger go away and soothes the sweet tooth.I also like that, unlike real Pop Tarts, you don't have the issue where you open the package of two, eat one, put the second in the fridge for later, and when you get back to it, it's stale. These packages are a bit better geared to single-serving snacking--and also seem to not go stale so fast if you don't eat them quickly.The expiration date on the box was roughly a year from when I got them. So all good on that front.In all, if you like Pop Tarts, and are looking for a snack that's fairly similar and kind of perfectly poised for popping and snacking in the way that Pop Tarts sometimes aren't, this may be your treat!
