1 star: couldn't watch more than 15 minutes. Unwatchable!
2 star: jumped my way to the end for the ending. Unwatchable, but interested in how this turd ended.
3 star: watched it all, but not happy about it. Nothing better to do.
4 star: I watched it, liked it well enough. Would never watch it again.
5 star: Great moving picture show! I'll watch it again, and maybe again in a few years.

It's not a bad flick at all.

An unexpectedly good movie that deserves to be better known

An unexpectedly good movie that deserves to be better known ... The trailer got me interested but I was worried it might be one of those films where the trailer is the best part since it had so few reviews. I figured I'd take a $6 bet on a rental, and it was definitely worth it ! Well acted, convincing characters even if the story is a bit classic, many funny moments and some great driving scenes (a bit reminiscent of "Baby Driver" or "Drive", except this is not a dark or heist type of story). A handful of situations a bit over the top, but overall a very enjoyable experience with many genuine laughs and a finesse in characters rendition that might surprise you.

Thoroughly enjoyed this--a fabulous Kiwi film decidedly NOT blockbuster-light fare

Thoroughly enjoyed this--a fabulous Kiwi film decidedly NOT blockbuster-light fare. The humor is subtle and the performances have actual emotional range--so refreshing. The characters are deeper than cardboard cutouts, and the actors have brought them to life. Dean O'Gorman creating a diversion is masterful comedy AND his dramatic scenes got me in the gut. James Rolleston's "bad kid" character is played with astonishing and impressive insight. Yes it's wacky and comedic, but that's not the point. At the root it's all about making choices that go down the wrong path, and how we figure out what we really want. Love it.
